A very useful new column to check on!

Help!!!
Help!!!
Questions and doubts are increasing daily! And comments are exceeding dykes! It never happened before!
In addition, even thanks to one of my greatest muses, Lo from Galline 2nd Life blog, many new readers came here and I greet them with a warm welcome! I hope that you will be at ease here, sure that in case you need a help, a soothing word, a simple chat, I’m at your disposal.

So I take the chance to announce the opening of the interactive column… SOS Recycle!!!
A series of articles useful to everybody about our doubt on what can be recycled or composted, the facilities and possible alternative.

The suggestion came from MisterCrama, a very careful but casual commenter and ‘talking cricket’ of my blog, who recently started to recycle for kerbside waste collection with many difficulties.

How to work: you can send me your questions in comments or via email.
Then I’ll try to answer, moving on the base of my knowledge and doing researches, on the internet and among my very furnished paper archive.
Every question – and related answer – then will become blog posts. In a second time I’ll list them in a column aside to make easier researches.

Quindi vi invito da oggi a segnarvi ogni vostro dubbio e a propormelo.
If you want, you can start since now to take note of your doubts and tell me.

But don’t consider me the guru of trash! LOL
I say you in advance: I have my limits too!
I know well common materials and recycle process (due also to my previous studies). But getting out of the jungle of Italian services for waste collection is a difficult task. As you well know, every municipality has its methods, its rules, as also its different colours for bins! Unfortunately from this point of view, I can’t say an unambiguous answer to your doubts and everyone will have to verify local facilities.

So tell me what do you think about it!
I think that MisterCrama’s idea hits it on the nail. What’s more, I wanted to add that he made me a very zero waste nice present: thanks to his long view, since a pair of weeks, you can arrive on the Dandaworld blog from the domain www.dandaworld.it.
This can be the start of a series of changes that inch by inch could interest the blog. But you can stay safe for now, all remains almost the same, my rambling speeches apart with your comments and speeches that, instead, make the blog really unique!

Allora aspetto vostre domande e curiosità…
So I just can’t wait to know your questions and curiosities…

Buon weekend!
In the meantime, are you ready to the European Week for Waste Reduction?
Next week I’ll let you know on what we will be committed for and we'll talk about other forthcoming initiatives over blogs and all around us...
Have a good weekend!

  6. WOW!! This is a really wonderful initiative!!

It's awesome you are ready to answer questions, I may have some myself! :)

Do you know what #90 plastics is? It's next to a recycling sign on a (metallized) small cappuccino satchet and my Sis asked me if it can be recycled?
I was told metallized plastic foil can't be recycled in Slovenia yet, but some attempts have been made in Austria. Never heard of #90 plastics though!

(Sis still doesn't want other cappuccinos, sigh! She said those not in satchets are more expensive and I offered to buy them for her or at least pay for the difference!)

  8. Eh eh, thank you so much Layla!
I'll only TRY to answer! :)
It could be the possibility to not find the solution...

In facts, as regards your doubt... I've never heard about a #90 plastic!
But... if it is a metallized sachet it can be what is normally labelled as CA, so a paper combined to another different material, in your case alluminium and plastic.

Perhaps it could be recycled in the same way as tetrapak. But I'm not sure.

Have you a little picture of the material and of the symbol to send me?
So I can do more researches...

You're almost a saint to offer your sister this possibility! :D
But you cannot force her to do what she doesn't want... she must understand it by herself. It need more time, maybe!

If I'll find an option for cappuccino's sachets, I'll let you know! ;)

  10. Bella iniziativa.
