Forse ho scelto una settimana troppo "normale" per impegnarmi in questo tipo di sfida. Però è andato esattamente come tutti i giorni delle altre settimane.
Nearly there! Only one day to the end of the Zero Waste Week and well... there are no news! I don't want to say that I'm getting bored, but nothing particular has happened, it's the truth! :)
Al ritorno dal lavoro, in pausa pranzo, Irish è andato a fare la spesa al mercato rionale con le nostre sportine di tela, ha comprato il pane nei sacchetti di carta che normalmente ricicliamo, ha prelevato almeno due volte il latte alla spina e riempito le bottiglie alla sorgente d'acqua qui vicino. Ed io? Beh, purtroppo per lavoro sono incollata alla poltrona della mia scrivania a casa e non faccio in tempo a fare queste commissioni per via della mia pausa pranzo più breve. Quindi Irish è quasi un santo!
Coming back from work, during break, Irish went to go shopping at the local market, whit our cotton bags, he buyed bread in paper sacks – we normally recycle –, he went almost two times to take milk on tap to the distributor and to fill bottles to the water source near our home.
And I? Well, unfortunately my work makes me be sitting to my desk at home and I haven't so much time to do the same things, I have a short break for lunch. So Irish is almost a saint!
Però domani sarà una giornata forse più movimentata e quindi da un certo punto di vista "pericolosa". Andremo a ritirare la spesa prenotata via internet al punto di distribuzione del GAS locale, porteremo alcuni rifiuti particolari all'isola ecologica più vicina a noi e poi andremo a comprare quello che ci manca al supermercato. Eh già, pur riducendo al massimo la spesa al supermercato qualcosa la compriamo lo stesso. Domani soprattutto dovrò procurarmi gli ingredienti per fare una torta.
But tomorrow it will be a more busy day and so there will be more "danger" at the horizon. We will go to take our purchases, reserved on the internet, to the distribution point of the local exchange community, we will bring some special waste to the local Household Waste Recycling Centre, and then we will go to the supermarket to buy the rest. Yes, even if we reduced to the maximum purchases in the supermakets, we buy something there the same. In particular, tomorrow I will search for ingredients to make a cake.
Ieri sera, infatti, abbiamo cenato direttamente in un piccolo ristorante vicino casa, con cucina tradizionale. Sia pur ordinando pochi pasti alla fine eravamo sazi e abbiamo evitato il dolce!
Ma un compleanno senza dolce non va bene. Quindi domani mi piacerebbe festeggiare con le nostre vicine, la zia e la cugina di Irish, dividendo una bella tortina... ancora no so quale... suggerite pure!
In facts, yesterday evening, we had dinner directly out, in a little restaurant near our home, where we could eat traditional ccoking. We ordered few meals but at the end we were sated, so we avoided the dessert! But a birthday without a cake isn't nice. So tomorrow I'd like to celebrate with our neighbours, Irish' aunt and cousin, sharing a good cake... but what? Have you a suggestion for me?
Tutti i dettagli della giornata di domani, quindi, ovviamente ve li riporterò in serata e solo domenica avremo l'esito finale della nostra sfida!
Per oggi, quindi, mi fermo qui. Se proprio non vi va di rimanere a bocca asciutta vi lascio con uno slideshow di alcuni scatti fotografici di Ecomondo, che vi racconterò meglio la prossima settimana. Beh, per ora è tutto, dal bidone vuoto dei rifiuti, buona notte!!! ;)

It's awesome you go shopping with cotton bags to the market! I think we could do a little better in that regard.. We bought bread with a cotton bag a few times too, then we lost the bag!
It is best if it's 'boring' - that means it's so natural you are not even thinking about it anymore!
And do you have a natural water source in the woods or..?
I don't have any recipes for cakes, not an expert on baking, hopefully more experts will tell!! - It depends what you two like and maybe have or what you can buy zero waste.. :)
(we have been eating a lot of pear pie/biscuit/muffins/cooked pears... lately, to prevent the pears from self-destructing! Uncle has too much of them and we'd have to buy fruit otherwise!)

Allora non avreimai pensato che poi sarei venuta a vivere qui e che avrei contribuito alla riapertura della Fonte... Ciao, a presto

RispondiEliminaWe always go shopping with four or five bags and once we risked to lose them, but the seller called us to make notice it! We were lucky! I think we are knew in our city area as "the ones with the cotton bags"! :D
Yes, we have a natural water source but it isn't located in a wood. It is a very deep stratum in the soil in which water flows. A legend says that it was San Giuliano to make the miracle and make the source flow to the surface... :)
