Il giorno delle coccinelle / Ladybugs’ day

No, non mi riferisco alle brave bambine esploratrici, sebbene avrei voluto esserlo, sono riuscita ad essere una scout – o meglio una “guida” – solo all’età di 16 anni.
No, I am not referring to the good scout girls, though I wanted to be one of them, I managed to be a scout only at the age of 16.

Il titolo di questo post è dedicato a questo bel giorno in cui, uscito finalmente il sole e tornata una temperatura accettabile per la stagione – siamo a primavera inoltrata e fino a qualche giorno si gelava! –, sembra che fuori in giardino la vita pulluli gioiosamente!
Fra cinguettii di merli, cinicallegre e passerotti, fra meravigliosi fiori spontanei – fiori di tarassaco dalla corolla oro luminosissima, fiori bianchissimi di aglio, violette del pensiero e, finalmente, margherite, – e rigogliosissimo trifoglio c’è un via vai di coccinelle. Esco fuori a prelevare il bucato, che finalmente si asciuga, e mi ritrovo coccinelle dappertutto, sui pantaloni, sulle mollette, sui panni, in casa, sugli infissi e gli stipiti delle porte! Ma che meraviglia!!! Quelle malcapitate dentro casa sono state gentilmente accompagnate fuori.
The title of this post is dedicated to this beautiful day, when the sun finally came out and temperature returned to be acceptable for the season – we are in late spring now and until a few days it was so cold! – It seems that outside in the garden life is teeming joyfully!
Among twittering blackbirds, sparrows and bluetits, among wonderful wild flowers – dandelion flowers with a bright gold corolla, white flowers of garlic, violets and, finally, daisies, – and luxuriant clovers there is a bustle of ladybugs. I go out to pick up the laundry hunging, which eventually dries out, and I find ladybugs everywhere, on my pants, on pegs, on clothes, at home, on the windows and the door jambs! But what a treat! Those unfortunate ones in the house were kindly accompanied out.

Non so perché ma associo quest’invasione ad una ventata di positività! Questo perché sempre oggi sono venuta a conoscenza di due belle notizie.
I do not know why but I associate this invasion to a wave of positivity! This is because today I learned two good news.

La prima: ve la ricordate la mia amica blogger Almost Mrs Average? Sì, sì proprio lei! Mi aveva anticipato che quest’anno sarebbe stato emozionante con il suo ultimo viaggio a San Francisco, dove avrebbe preso parte alla conferenza della Zero Waste International Alliance, luogo scelto non a caso, poiché la metropoli americana ha abbracciato completamente lo stile di vita Rifiuti Zero (vi invito a leggere i post di Karen a riguardo, ovviamente se siete pratici con l’inglese)… Bene, la grande Karen Cannard oggi annuncia l’apertura del nuovo sito The Rubbish Diet, che ora è molto più che un blog: un vero e proprio punto di riferimento per chi, negli UK, voglia intraprendere la sfida a Zero Rifiuti, insomma un progetto più ampio, che da semplice iniziativa privata è diventato un vero e proprio obiettivo nazionale! Sono felicissima per questa notizia e un grossissimo In Bocca al Lupo per Karen!!!
The first: do you remember my blogger friend Almost Mrs Average? Yes, yes her! She anticipated to me that this year would be exciting with her last trip to San Francisco, where she attended the conference of the Zero Waste International Alliance, as the place was chosen not by chance but because the American city has fully embraced the Zero Waste lifestyle (I invite you to read Karen’s post about it, of course, if you are familiar with English)... Well, the great Karen Cannard today announces the opening of the new site The Rubbish Diet, which is now more than just a blog: a real point of reference for those who, in the UK, wants to take part to the Zero Waste challenge, in short, a larger project, from a simple private initiative to a real national goal! I'm delighted by this news and a very big Good Luck to Karen!

Ah come vorrei che anche qui in Italia accadessero queste fantastiche iniziative! Ma non mi demoralizzo, anzi, qualcosa si sta muovendo pure qui. Sempre oggi vengo a sapere che Zero Waste Italy, sta proponendo in tutta Italia una petizione per la “Legge Rifiuti Zero” (qui la sintesi della proposta e qui le modalità di adesione). Questa è una notizia meravigliosa! Dalla prossima domenica dovrebbero essere allestiti nelle piazze di molte città italiane i banchetti per firmare. Diamoci da fare a diffondere l’iniziativa. È ora che cambi qualcosa nella gestione dei rifiuti ed è ora di iniziare a pensare con un’altra mentalità! Questa è un’occasione da non lasciarsi sfuggire! Appena ne saprò di più vi terrò informati!
Oh how I wish these fantastic initiatives happening here in Italy! But I do not lose heart, indeed, something is happening here too. Also today I learn that Zero Waste Italy is proposing throughout Italy a petition for a“Zero Waste Law” (here the summary of the proposal and here how to join). Wonderful news! From next Sunday cities banquets to sign should be set up in the streets of many Italian towns. Let’s get to spread the initiative. It’s time to change something in waste management and it’s time to start thinking with a different mentality! This is an opportunity not to be missed! As soon as I know more I will keep you informed!

Da quando ho iniziato a scrivere su questo blog, ormai lontano 2007, non avrei mai pensato che alcune cose sarebbero cambiate. Eppure oggi, ancora, in questa “giornata delle coccinelle” sono capitata su un sito con un’iniziativa promozionale sul biologico. Un concorso in realtà, con tanto di premi (ho già vinto anche un e-book), e un bellissimo albero virtuale che cresce grazie ai commenti e alle foto di tantissime persone. Ok, c’è un intento pubblicitario (vi ho avvertiti), visto che si coinvolgono anche i social network, però è semplicemente meraviglioso leggere quello che scrive tanta gente: ormai non mi sento più sola nei miei comportamenti attenti all’ambiente, c’è una miriade di persone che fanno la raccolta differenziata, che fanno il compostaggio domestico, che producono da sé il pane e i dolci, che vanno in bicicletta, che comprano bio, che coltivano le loro verdure, che sentono di essere vicini alla natura… non posso che gioirne, mi sento euforica e mi corrono i brividi solo a pensarci!!! Ma dobbiamo essere di piùùùù!!! :)
Since I started writing this blog, now back in 2007, I never thought that things would change. Yet today, even in this “Ladybugs’ Day” I popped on a site with a promotional initiative on organic food. A contest, in reality, with lots of prizes (I already won an e-book), and a beautiful virtual tree that grows thanks to comments and photos of many people. Ok, there is a commercial purpose (I warned you), since it is also promoted on social networks, but it is simply wonderful to read what so many people write: now I do not feel lonely in my environmentally conscious behavior, ther’s is a myriad of people who recycle, compost, produce themselves bread and cakes, go by bike, buy organic, grow their veggies, feel closer to nature... I enjoy it, I feel euphoric and chills run on me just thinking about it! But we must to do moooore! :)

E quindi finalmente mi sblocco e scrivo questo post, anche se ho mille cose da fare. Ho bisogno di dar voce al mio cuore ogni tanto e voglio condividere la gioia di questa giornata che volge al termine. E per concludere questa sera preparerò dei bei pacchettini di semi da mandare alla seedbarter partner che Kia mi ha assegnato con la sua splendida iniziativa del baratto di semi.

And then I finally unlock myself and write this post, even if I have a thousand things to do. I need to give voice to my heart every now and want to share the joy of this day that is ending. And finally this evening I will prepare some good seed packets to be sent to the seedbarter partner that Kia has given me with her splendid initiative of seeds bartering.

Affetto e stima non vanno mai in vacanza! / Affection and estimation never go on holiday!

È inevitabile che in questo periodo il web stia rallentando la sua frenetica attività: blogger in vacanza, lettori in diminuzione e il contatore di statistiche che rivela, specialmente nei weekend delle paurose voragini di frequentazione del blog… ehh, non ditemi che voi non andate a controllare le vostre statistiche! :)
You can’t avoid to notice that the web is slowing down its frantic activity: bloggers are on holiday, readers are decreasing, the statistic counter reveals that – especially on weekends – there are big gaps of visits on your blog… ehh, don’t say me that you don’t control your statistics! :)

Ma ultimamente sono così felice! Il blog ha superato le 20.000 visite e nonostante siamo in estate inoltrata, i commenti e gli apprezzamenti arrivano sempre.
È così che in questa settimana ho ricevuto un premio da ben due diverse blogger a me tanto care!
Si tratta del “Premio Dardos”, con il quale vengono premiati quei blogger “che hanno dimostrato impegno nel trasmettere valori culturali, etici, letterari o personali”. Sono felicissima di essere stata annoverata tra questi blogger così virtuosi!
But lately I’m so happy! My blog has passed the 20’000 visits and even if we are in full summer, comments and appreciations always come to me.
So, it was during this week that I received an award from two different bloggers that I love so much!
It’s the “Dardos Award”, addressed to the bloggers “who demonstrated to be committed in the transmission of cultural, ethical, literary or personal values”. I was so happy to be mentioned among this so virtuous bloggers!

Il premio in particolare mi è stato assegnato da Valverde del blog Cronache dal Pollaio e da Nora del blog La Felice Stagione. Entrambi sono persone speciali!
Valverde (per gli amici “Valina”) è una donna forte e magica, impegnata nel ricostruirsi una vita a diretto contatto con la natura, cercando di optare per uno stile di vita più sobrio e sostenibile, nel rispetto dei tanti esseri viventi che la circondano – che sono tanti, vi assicuro! –.
Nora è invece una buona compagna di avventura, perché sa sempre consigliarti qualcosa di interessante, dai viaggi ai libri, dalle ricette ai consigli per l’orto, ma soprattutto è una bravissima mamma che svolge il suo compito delicato e importante in totale sintonia con l’ambiente!
Vi consiglio vivamente di seguire i loro post e approfitto per ringraziarle ufficialmente di questo premio del tutto inaspettato.
The award was given to me by Valverde from the blog Cronache dal Pollaio and Nora from the blog La Felice Stagione. Both are two special persons!
Valverde (aka Valina for me and friends) is a strong and magic woman, committed into a new life directly at contact with nature, trying to have a more sober and sustainable life, in the respect of living being that surround her – and she is literally surrounded by lots of creatures! –.
Nora is already a good adventure fellow, because she is used to suggest many interesting things such as books, place for travels, recipes and tips for the garden. But she is especially a good mother, who is carrying out her delicate and important task in total empathy with environment.
I strongly suggest to you to follow their blogs and take the opportunity to thanks them for this totally unexpected gift.

Ed ora come da regola del premio dovrei comportarmi così: premiare altri 15 blog che si ritengono meritevoli e avvertirli. Ecco, qui sono la solita pigra! Se vedeste i blog che seguo, non solo nella colonna laterale, ma nel mio reader rss, vi spaventereste alquanto.
