Passato un divertente Halloween? / Have you spent a funny Halloween?

Paura eh?
Non vi spaventate! Oppure sì, spaventatevi! Non è il mio travestimento di Halloween ma solo un modo in cui mi sono conciata ieri per andare al lavoro, visto che a Rimini hanno decurtato gli autobus pubblici anche nei giorni 31 ottobre e 2 novembre...
Quindi mi sono attrezzata per andare con la mia e-bici, e, ovviamente, visto il cambio dell'ora, ho dovuto indossare il giubbetto catarifrangente, poiché all'uscita era già buio! Però devo dire che ieri si pedalava divinamente. Il freddo, quello invernale, ancora non è arrivato e quindi basta coprirsi in maniera sufficiente a non far filtrare l'aria... mentre dal punto di vista del traffico, era una pacchia, vista la chiusura delle scuole per il ponte.

So I equipped for cycling with my e-bike, and, of course, given the standard time change, I had to wear a reflective vest, because as I go back home it was already dark! But I must say that yesterday I rode divinely. The winter cold has not arrived yet and then it is enough just to cover yourself sufficiently not to filter the air... while from the point of view of the traffic, it was a godsend, given the closure of schools for the long weekend holiday.

Insomma, mi sono quasi divertita a pedalare in notturna, tanto che con il brusio del motore e la velocità mi sembrava quasi di volare... avete presente il film di E.T.?
Bene! E anche se E.T. non è proprio un film horror, ben si prestava ieri che era la notte dei mostri e delle streghe!
In short, I almost enjoyed riding at night, so that with the buzz of the engine and the speed it seemed almost to fly... do you remember the movie of E.T.?
Well! And even if E.T. is not really a horror film, it was well appropriate yesterday, because it was the night of monsters and witches!

A proposito... visto che zucca? Le mani di Irish, abili non solo nel cucinare, ma anche nell'intagliare, hanno creato questa bellissima lanterna! E non preoccupatevi per la polpa... recuperato il tutto, presto sarà utilizzato per ottime zuppe o altre gustose ricette! Avanti i suggerimenti!

Ancora a proposito di recupero... da tempo mi frullava in mente un'idea che avevo visto su questo sito lo scorso anno, suggerito da Pane Amore e Creatività.
La mia mamma e la mia cara sorellina sono grandi consumatrici (ahimè) di preparati industriali a base di fermenti lattici... sanno già mooolto bene che le bottigliette in plastica vanno riciclate. Tuttavia, quando siamo state insieme quest'estate ho sottratto loro quelle consumate in quel periodo, tenendole da parte fino a questa occasione.
Further, concerning the reuse... for some time an idea whirred in my head. I had seen it on this site last year, suggested by the blog Pane Amore e Creatività.
My dear mother and sister are big consumers (alas) of preparations based industrial lactic... They already know that they have to recycle plastic bottles. However, when we were together this summer, I have taken from them those consumed in that period, keeping them up until this occasion.

Ed ecco il risultato di un dopocena davanti ad una tv poco allettante.
Come luci abbiamo utilizzato una serie di miniluci che funziona a pile, acquistata parecchi anni fa, ma andrebbe bene una normalissima serie di LED natalizi bianchi. Si legano alle bottigliette con uno spago di recupero, facendolo passare da due buchi fatti preventivamente su ognuna. Consigliamo di disegnare i volti dei fantasmini dopo queste operazioni, o ci si ritrova le mani impiastricciate di pennarello.
Ah, dimenticavo, ovviamente le pile erano ricaricabili... peccato non averle potute caricare con il caricabatterie solare, dono di un carissimo amico... il sole in questi giorni è stato davvero pigro!

As we used a series of mini-lights that work with batteries – we purchased several years ago – but it would fit a normal series of white LED Christmas. You have to bound it to the bottles with a string, passing it by two holes made in advance of each of them. We advise you to draw the faces of the ghosts after these operations, or you find yourself hands smeared with the marker.
Oh, and of course the batteries were rechargeable... shame not having been able to load them with the solar charger, a gift from a dear friend... these days the sun was really lazy!

Infine io e Irish, abbiamo fatto un bel giretto per la nostra zona, fotografando le zucche e le decorazioni di Halloween delle case e dei negozi... Questa idea però per me è stata la vincitrice: un bell'esempio di upcycling con le grucce in metallo dei vestiti...
Finally Irish and I have done quite a ride for our area, photographing pumpkins and Halloween decorations of houses and shops... This idea, however, was the winner for me: a beautiful example of upcycling with metal clothes hangers...

Hallow(gr)een: una festa diversa / a different celebration

I vecchi lettori del mio blog sapranno già che io e Irish People amiamo festeggiare questo particolare "capodanno". E non crediamo che sia solo un'americanata. Lo riteniamo un modo di avvicinarci alle origini, alle tradizioni di un tempo... chi nel proprio paese non festeggia in questo periodo i Santi e i Defunti? Bene proprio di quello si tratta!
E noi festeggiamo ogni anno in maniera sempre diversa... l'anno scorso con una cena medievale, quest'anno, visto che i nostri cari amici sono lontani da noi, lo festeggeremo in maniera un po' più ecologica.
The old readers of my blog, well know that Irish People and me love to celebrate this particular new year's night. And we don't think that it's only a way to imitate American people. We think that it's a way to returd to origins, to old traditions... who in his own country don't celebrate the Saints and the Departed? Well, it's the same thing we do!
And every year we celebrate ever in a different way... the last one we made a medieval dinner, this year, due to the fact that our friends are fare from here, we are celebrating in a greener way.

Stasera si inaugura "Dinamo" una mostra che ha come tema 'la bicicletta', dove alcuni artisti esporranno 15 opere realizzate con bici di recupero. La mostra resterà aperta fino al 9 novembre.
Contemporaneamente questa sera ci diletteremo, se il tempo lo permette, in un percorso di trekking urbano, organizzato dall'Associazione Pedalando e Camminando, che ci condurrà attraverso la città alla scoperta dei suoi scorci notturni, un modo ecologico per muoversi, fare i turisti in modo diverso e scambiare amicizia con altre persone!

Tonight the "Dinamo" exibition starts: it has 'the bicycle' as theme and some artists will show 15 works realized with old bikes. The exibition will be opened until 9th November.
At the same time tonight we enjoy, even if weather will permit us, a walk of urban trekking, organized by the Association "Pedalando e Camminando", which will drive us through the city, discovering it by night, in a green way to move, becoming turists in a different way and exchanging friendship with other people!

Se saremo ancora svegli e attivi, ce ne andremo a festeggiare ancora all'Assenzio, dove stasera la musica selezionata da Bicio e Ale allieterà le atmosfere misteriose di Halloween.
If we will have the strenght after that we'll go to celebrate to 'Assenzio', when music selected by Bicio and Ale, will make the misterious night happier.

E per tradizione accenderemo la simpatica zucca già preparata e fornitaci dal nostro fruttivendolo di fiducia del mercato, Andrea. Così al verde delle iniziative ci aggiungeremo anche un tocco di arancio! E sfornerò dei biscotti con scaglie di cioccolata. I semini della zucca andranno a sfamare i nostri visitatori alati diurni. Sarà una bella serata allegra... dolcetto o scherzetto?
And due to tradition we'll turn on the candle in the funny pumpkin we have bought from our greengrocer, Andrea. So, to rthe green of initiatives we will add a touch of orange! And I'll bake my chocolate cookies. The pumpkin seeds will be given to our daily winged visitors. It will be a nice and happy night... trick or treat?

Una festa tutta in verde e... arancio

Cambia il tempo, cambia il paesaggio, i profumi sanno più di autunno.
Questo clima mi avvicina sempre di più al sentimento di una festa che spesso è odiata da molti perché accostata al paese più consumista del mondo. Invece no! Questa è una festa europea e ancora di più: italiana, radicata nel profondo delle nostre tradizioni.
Hallow'een significa, se non ricordo male, "vigilia di tutti i Santi" (ma qualcuno lo traduce come "ingresso consentito ai defunti"); è il giorno in cui si festeggia il Samhain dei Celti, l'antico capodanno pagano, quando si dava un addio all'estate portatrice di frutti e abbondanza e si propiziava l'ingresso dell'inverno, il periodo in cui Madre Natura riposa... E in questo periodo, come vogliono le antiche tradizioni europee, ai defunti è concesso, fino ai primi di febbraio, di riprendere i contatti col mondo terreno.
Ecco perché da noi si festeggiano i morti, e tutti i Santi, insieme. Ovviamente come tutte le tradizioni pagane anche questa è stata assorbita dai riti cristiani, ma, quanti di noi nelle loro terre di origine festeggiano queste ricorrenze con annesse leggende nostrane, dolci tipici e falò o lumini accesi per rischiarare queste notti piene di fascino un po' tenebroso?
Nel mio paese d'origine, in Puglia, si festeggiano i morti con dolci fatti col vin cotto, i mostaccioli, e cosa molto nordica, ai bambini i morti "portano" delle calze piene di dolciumi, dono che in altre parti della nostra Italia si fa alla Befana (che è poi il momento in cui, si dice in altre leggende italiane, i morti lasciano nuovamente la terra).
Non mi prendete solo per una fissata di tradizioni celtiche e irlandesi (quale in realtà sono, eh eh!), ma è una festa che mi piace, sarà che il periodo è quello da me preferito, l'autunno, con i suoi colori stupendi, profumi e sapori, sarà per quell'alone di mistero e sarà che poi fra poco è anche il mio compleanno (che periodo allegro per un compleanno)!
Comunque se avete qualche tradizione o leggenda che vi appartiene, sarebbe bello raccontarla.
Per cui vi aspetto qui e buon Halloween!!!
