Il compleanno ai tempi dei social network

Oggi è il mio compleanno, ne compio 44... eh sì il regalo lo faccio io alla rete, un po’ della mia privacy. :-)

Sono di rientro da una due giorni di convegno sui social media, e, proprio oggi mi rendo conto di quanto i tempi siano cambiati.

Questa mattina mi alzo dal letto un po’ pigramente, perché, sì, evviva, è sabato! E poi è il mio compleanno, no? Posso poltrire ancora un po’...

I primi auguri li ricevo dal mio maritino che è già sveglio dalle 7 (fa sempre così nei weekend) e insieme facciamo una normale colazione, cappuccino e biscotti homemade con uvetta, nocciole e pinoli. Adesso sì che va meglio!

Guardo il cellulare spento, ma mi rifiuto di accenderlo. Ho bisogno di riprendermi, non sono ancora pronta alla valanga dei messaggi che riceverò.

Lavo le stoviglie, rinfresco la pasta madre che mi servirà domani per fare il pane, e preparo una lavatrice: fuori il tempo è brutto ma c’è un vento che asciugherà il bucato più velocemente del solito. Poi, ecco, mi decido ad accendere il cellulare.

E subito comincia inesorabilmente una serie di “drinn” e il display si riempie di notifiche... messaggi su Messenger, Whatsapp, sulla mia bacheca di Facebook che è proprio il primo (o meglio il secondo) a farmi gli auguri. Qualche cara amica che sera, o meglio, stanotte ha preferito farmi gli auguri che abbandonarsi alla stanchezza del venerdì sera. I messaggi sono pieni di baci, cuoricini, torte, regali, animaletti e pupazzetti festosi in forma di emoticon o immagini. Un video di Raffaella Carrà, e una foto della mia sorellina, con me vestita da sposa e io mi commuovo...

Tre telefonate e due sms. Si vede che i tempi sono cambiati! 

Ma vediamola così: non è mica scontato che ti scrivano persone con cui non ci si vede da anni, eppure succede! E persone che nemmeno conosci di persona, o ti conoscono appena, ti fanno gli auguri e spendono qualche minuto per farti arrivare il loro affetto. Non è bellissimo? Più di cento... e continueranno, specialmente dopo che condividerò questo post! :-)

Sì, c’erano compleanni in cui le mie orecchie si scaldavano sul display del cellulare, perché non riuscivo a staccarmici. Però a me oggi sta bene così: ho avuto tempo per me, persino per scrivere questa mia nota! Stasera si festeggia!

Lo so che siete lì! Il tempo è tiranno per chi è in vacanza, ma che c’è di meglio di rilassarsi e mettersi a leggere e curiosare fra i blog? In vacanza c’è più tempo per dedicarsi alla lettura, no?
Quindi è arrivato il tempo di aggiornarvi.
Durante questo mese ne sono successe di cose, ma cercerò di non annoiarvi. Per riassumere il mio stato, in questo periodo questa è la frase più azzeccata di una famosa canzone – che io adoro – “Oh my life, is changing every day, in every possible way”! (“Dreams” by the Cranberries)
I know there you are! Weather is bad for those who are on holiday, but what about relaxing, reading and browsing through the blogs? On holiday there is more time to dedicate reading, isn’t it?
So now is the time to update news.
During this month plenty of things have happened, but I'll try not to bore you. To sum up my mood, at this time the most apt phrase from a famous song – which I love – is: "Oh my life, is changing every day, in every possible way"! ("Dreams" by the Cranberries)

Cominciamo dalla novità più bella: questo blog mi ha portato sicuramente tante nuove amicizie, mi ha dato la possibilità di scambiare opinioni, condividere col mondo interessi, pensieri, gioie e preoccupazioni ma mai avrei immaginato che mi avrebbe portato una nuova opportunità di lavoro! Sì, da poco ho iniziato a collaborare con un’azienda che fa della sostenibilità ambientale la sua mission e io sono la più felice del mondo!
Ora sono solo agli inizi, ma è inutile dire che mi sento proprio a mio agio! Ho conosciuto delle belle persone e spero che il tutto possa avere degli sviluppi sempre più interessanti e coinvolgenti. In tutto questo sono eternamente grata alla mia amica Nicoletta che ha avuto un ruolo fondamentale nel connettere me con queste persone.
Vi dirò qualcosa di più prossimamente, ma voi intanto pensatemi intensamente! ;)
Let's start from the best news: this blog has brought me many new friends, it definitely gave me the opportunity to share point of views, interests, thoughts, joys and concerns with the world but I never imagined that it would give me a new job opportunity! Yes, I just started to work with a company that makes environmental sustainability its mission and I am the happiest woman in the world!
Now I’m just starting, but it is needless to say that I feel really at ease! I met some nice people and I hope that everything will have increasingly interesting and engaging developments. By the way I am eternally grateful to my friend Nicoletta who has played a key role in connecting me with these people.
I'll tell you something more soon, but in the meantime think about me intensely, please! ;)

Questo periodo è stato ancora caratterizzato dalla sistemazione ed ottimizzazione degli spazi domestici, dopo gli intensi lavori del mese scorso. Abbiamo dovuto, quindi, fare molto ‘decluttering’, come già annunciato, portando ai mercatini dell’usato molte delle cose accumulate negli anni. C’è da dire che però anche i mercatini in questo periodo sono pienissimi e la gente difficilmente compra. Quindi ho adottato un piano B. Mi sono iscritta ad un sito dov’è possibile barattare le proprie cose con quelle di altre persone. Si tratta di Soloscambio.it. Per il momento ho già un paio di scambi portati a termine e alcuni altri in corso. La cosa bella è che ho già stretto amicizia via mail con alcune persone molto simpatiche. E il primo pacchetto che mi è arrivato, con un simpatico libro di cucina scozzese a fumetti – per il mio cuoco! – mi è stato recapitato a casa con un imballo fatto con una scatola di cereali (in foto). E io non posso che essere felice, questo posto fa proprio per me!

This period has been characterized by the arrangement and optimization of domestic spaces, after the intense works of last month. Therefore, we had to do decluttering, as already announced, bringing many of the things accumulated over the years to the second-hand shops. Really even these places in this period are fullest of stuff and people hardly buy. So I adopted a B plan. I signed up to a site where you can barter your own thing with those ones of other people. It is Soloscambio.it. For the moment I have a couple of exchanges completed and some others in progress. The nice thing is that I have new friends via e-mail, some very nice people. And the first package I received, with a nice Scottish comic cookbook inside – for my chef! – was delivered at home with a package made from a cereal box (pictured). And I can not be happy, this place is just for me!

Nel frattempo le attività nello spazio ReDiVita, nonostante l’estate e le bizze del tempo, hanno continuato a fervere. Ultimo avvenimento a cui ho partecipato: un divertente laboratorio per bambini, tardo-pomeridiano organizzato dai MakeRN e a cura di Mani Tese Rimini, per creare con le mani fantastiche creature luminose... con pongo conduttivo fai-da-te e LED! È stato curioso vedere come i bambini abbiano subito appreso come utilizzare la polarità e la proprietà conduttiva di questo pongo creato con materiali naturali. Non c’è niente da fare i bambini di oggi sono incredibilmente più svegli di noi alla loro stessa età!
Sulla scia di questo laboratorio, a settembre tenteremo un nuovo esperimento: un faro luminoso, costruito con materiale di recupero. Restate sintonizzati!
Meanwhile, activities in ReDiVita space – despite the summer and the whims of the time – continued to increase. Last event I attended: a fun workshop for children, in the late-afternoon organized by MakeRN and edited by Mani Tese Rimini, to create by hand fantastic lighted creatures... with conductive do-it-yourself dough and LEDs! It was curious to see how the children learned quickly how to use the polarity and the conductive properties of this dough created with natural materials. Today's kids are incredibly smarter than us at the same age!
In the wake of this workshop, in September we will try a new experiment: a bright lighthouse, built with recycled materials. Stay tuned!

Altre belle cose di questo periodo: un fantastico concertone durante la nostra Notte Rosa, con la bravissima Elisa – che, se non lo sapete, è anche una che ha molto a cuore l’ambiente, ma ne parleremo un’altra volta –; un altro ‘salvataggio’ in giardino, di un pulcino di merlo che la sua mamma si era perso dopo una giornata di temporali – peccato non avere foto per documentarne la tenerezza –; acquisti ecologici; la mia e-bike che riprende vita grazie agli spostamenti da fare per lavoro.
Other nice things about this period: a great big concert during our Pink Night with the talented Elisa Toffoli – that if you do not know, it is also one that cares a lot about the environment, but I’ll tell you soon –; another 'rescue' in the garden, a blackbird chick that lost her mother after a day of storms – shame not to have photos to show you their tenderness –; green purchases; my e-bike which comes to life thanks to the movements to do for work.

E poi sì, purtroppo, ci sono anche delle cose che non vanno proprio bene, ma sempre per dirla in musica, questa volta con le parole di Elisa, “Un segreto è fare tutto come se vedessi solo il sole” (“Qualcosa che non c’è”)! ;)

Di baratti, regali e... / Swaps, gifts and ...

Il nuovo anno è già iniziato da un bel pezzo e nel mio blog non ho ancora osato inaugurarlo. A dire il vero, se il capodanno è stato abbastanza tranquillo, molti giorni del mese di gennaio si sono rivelati piuttosto intensi, fra viaggi, influenza, attività di volontariato, lavoro e riorganizzazione dello stesso.
Ho avuto poco tempo da dedicare alla mia passione preferita, il blog, e neanche molta ispirazione. Volevo iniziare il nuovo anno con un post interessante.
Poi, però, l'ispirazione non ha tardato ad arrivare ed ora ho sicuramente qualcosa da dirvi, forse più che interessante, direi stimolante.
The new year has already started quite a while and in my blog I have not yet dared to inaugurate it. In fact, if the new year's eve has been pretty quiet, many days of the month of January were rather intense, between travel, flu, volunteer activities, work and reorganization of itself.
I had little time to devote to my favorite passion, the blog , and not so much inspiration. I wanted to start the new year with an interesting post.
Then, however, inspiration has not been slow to arrive and now I definitely have something to tell you, perhaps more than interesting, I would say challenging. 

Ma prima di tirar fuori nuovi argomenti dal cilindro, vorrei un momento riallacciarmi agli ultimi post del 2013. Un anno trascorso fra mille difficoltà, ma conclusosi meno peggio di quanto pensassi, perché mi sono arricchita di conoscenze e di esperienze nuove.
Vecchie cose hanno lasciato il posto a cose nuove... Vi ricordate il baratto di libri che avevo organizzato per la Settimana Europea per la riduzione dei rifiuti? Non aveva riscosso molto successo, ma alla fine ho avuto un paio di contatti, fra cui l'azienda che, sempre per quell'evento, avrebbe inaugurato una 'biblioteca verde'. Ho conosciuto via mail una bella comunità di persone che, lavorando assieme, hanno deciso di mettere su delle iniziative ecologiche, come per esempio anche un orto... Non posso che essere felice di donare o scambiare i miei libri con loro. Sono ancora nella mia libreria, ma fremono per essere letti da qualcun altro!
But before bringing out new topics from the hat, I'd like a moment to pick up on the last posts of 2013. A year spent in a thousand difficulties, but ended less worse than I thought, because I have enhanced knowledge and new experiences.
Old things have given way to new things ... Do you remember the books swap that I had arranged for the European Week for Waste Reduction? It wasn't very successful, but in the end I had a couple of contacts, including the company that, again for that event, would inaugurate a 'green library'. I met a nice email community of people who, working together, have decided to put on green initiatives, such as a vegetable garden... I can only be happy to donate or exchange my books with them. They are still in my library, but itching to be read by someone else!


Poi, al di fuori del blog, tramite Facebook, ho donato alcuni dei miei libri degli studi universitari ad una famiglia piemontese che non conoscevo. In viaggio per le feste natalizie, sono passati a prendere i libri e mi hanno fatto una piacevole sorpresa, portandomi in dono ottimi miele e polenta autoprodotti, dal momento che hanno una piccola azienda agricola. Ho, quindi avuto il piacere di conoscere queste bravissime persone e spero di poterli rivedere ancora...
Then, outside of the blog, through Facebook, I donated some of my books of my university age to a Piedmontese family who I did not know. Traveling for Christmas, they came to pick up the books and they made me a pleasant surprise, bringing the gift of great self-produced honey and polenta, since they have a small farm. I then had the pleasure to know these good people I hope can see again...

Infine le feste sono state, come sempre, bei momenti trascorsi con i miei familiari. E tornando a casa, mi son portata dietro dei bei ricordi e degli insoliti regali ricevuti: un libro che era da tempo nella mia whishing list ("La mia vita a impatto zero" di Paola Maugeri – quando l'avrò letto vi farò sapere qualcosa di più), una bella collana da commercio equo (acquisto londinese della mia sorellina temporaneamente espatriata), e, fra altre cose, udite udite, uno smartphone! Già, non è una cosa di cui un'ecologista come me dovrebbe vantarsi, ma, questo è uno smarphone speciale... praticamente è usato! :-)
Si tratta del primo smartphone del mio fratellone, il quale, attratto da un nuovo modello ha voluto disfarsi in questo modo del suo vecchio, datato 2010. Perché buttarlo? Io, che ero rimasta alla preistoria della telefonia, potevo fare così finalmente un salto nella tecnologia (anche se ho già un tablet – ma non è la stessa cosa!) e dimenticare finalmente quell'odioso joystick sul tastierino del mio vecchio cellulare che dal 2006 ormai sta perdendo sempre più colpi!
Quindi ora mi immaginerete super-geek... e invece... no! Il mio attaccamento alle cose vecchie ed obsolete è più forte di me e ancora non riesco a disfarmi del vecchio caro cellulare! Abbiate pazienza!
Quando qualcosa cambierà, vi aggiornerò! ;-)

Finally, Christmas days were, as always, good times spent with my family. And going back home, I brought along some good memories and some unusual gifts received: a book that was a long time in my whish list– when I've read I will tell you something more about "My Zero Impact Life" by Paola Maugeri–, a beautiful necklace from fair trade –purchased by my sister who temporarily expatriated in London–, and, among other things, unbelievable, a smartphone! Yeah, it is not a thing that an ecologist like me should be proud, but this is a special smartphone ... practically it is second hand! :-)
It is my brother's first smartphone. Attracted by a new model he wanted to get rid of his old, dated 2010. Why should he throw it away? Knowing me, he thought to give it to me –who remained at the prehistory of mobile phones– so I could finally make a leap in technology –even though I already have a tablet which is not the same thing!– And could finally forget the odious joystick on the keypad of my old mobile phone since 2006 which is now on the way to be out if order!
So now you will imagine me super-geek ... but ... no! My attachment to old and obsolete things is stronger than me and I still can not get rid of the good old phone! Please be patient!
When things will change, I will update you! ;-)

Ed è arrivato anche l'ultimo dell'anno, un giorno pieno di pensieri a volte... scaramantici!

Quindi, in tema, ho pensato di postare un'immagine di questo meraviglioso gufo – adoro i gufi! – creato dalla mia amica blogger Claudia, che ne ha realizzati tantissimi a mano per raccogliere fondi per l'associazione Famiglie SMA che mette insieme i genitori dei bambini colpiti dall'atrofia muscolare spinale.

Io ho cercato di partecipare con un gesto infinitesimale e sono stata sorpresa da quanto sia stato apprezzato quel poco che ho fatto, sia dalla mia amica che dalla stessa associazione che mi ha inviato subito una lettera di ringraziamento.

Queste sono cose che fanno bene al cuore, che danno speranza e felicità.
Vedere come dal lavoro paziente delle mani di una persona sensibile come Claudia far nascere qualcosa che ha molto più valore dell'oggetto in sé, perché ricco di amore e di significato, mi fa pensare che nel mondo in cui viviamo c'è speranza e c'è voglia di aiutarsi e di volersi bene.

Upcycling Christmas 2013

Ehm, sì, un po' fuori tempo come al solito!!! Volevo farvi gli auguri di Buon Natale con questa immagine. 
Sono i miei esperimenti per un workshop di riciclo di Mani Tese per bambini, in collaborazione con il Centro per le Famiglie di Rimini, che si è tenuto il 7 dicembre.
Il tema era, ovviamente, il Natale e l'obiettivo era quello di riciclare la maggior parte possibile degli imballaggi alimentari accumulati.
Quindi, potete vedere nei riquadri pupazzetti luminosi fatti con i flaconcini dei fermenti lattici, angioletti con l'anima fatta di bottiglie in PET e ali con i vassoi dei pasticcini, decorazioni con i tubi di cartone della carta assorbente o con i tappi delle conserve e carta da regalo, alberelli fatti con i sacchetti delle patatine o con i contenitori in plastica delle uova e, infine, personaggi del presepe o renne fatte con i tappi in sughero, stoffa, stecchini, tappi metallici, polistirolo e cotonfiocchi.
Mettere qui dei tutorial per ognuno sarebbe troppo lungo, però sono cose molto semplici, basta mettere in azione la creatività e la manualità.

Eventi passati e futuri / Past and next events

Come sempre i giorni volano e le cose da fare sono sempre tante, lavoro in primis, però il blog è sempre fra i miei pensieri, soprattutto quando succedono certe cose che vorrei tanto condividere con voi. Mi spiace solo di esser costretta a condividerle quando sono ormai passate, ma non preoccupatevi, ho qualche evento pronto per voi!
As always, the days fly by and things to do are always many, working first, but the blog is always on my mind, especially when certain things happen and I'd love to share them with you. I only regret being forced to share when they are past, but do not worry, I have some events ready for you!

L'ultimo di cui voglio darvi solo qualche flash è stato venerdì scorso. Una festicciola insolita che sa di "swap" – e la mia amica PeSte non me ne voglia ma non resisto ad usare questa parola ;) – e di retrogusto natalizio.
Con le amiche volontarie di Mani Tese abbiamo organizzato una tombolata riciclosa, un "Ritombolone" per stare insieme alle persone che hanno prestato il loro tempo all'iniziativa dei pacchetti in questa libreria e ringraziarle, divertendoci a riciclare ciò che di Natale non è stato "digerito"... già, quindi, panettoni, torroncini, vini e dolcini vari come ristoro e tanti tanti regali di cui ciascuno di noi voleva fare a meno, perché già in possesso, perché non adatto al guardaroba o perché non proprio corrispondente al proprio gusto, assegnati come premi.

C'è da dire che ci siamo proprio divertiti!!!
Io e Irish abbiamo realizzato il tabellone riciclando dei vecchi manifesti di un evento musicale ormai passato più di cinque anni fa (ne abbiamo ancora un sacco!). Poi io ho creato un festone con le carte da regalo metallizzate, seguendo questo suggerimento e per il ristoro ho fatto un paio di focacce pugliesi, che hanno avuto un grande successo. Abbiamo contribuito anche noi con un paio di regali che non avremmo mai utilizzato – meglio non dire però, non si sa mai che il post lo legga chi ce li ha regalati! ;) –.
We had really a great time!
Irish and me made the bingo board, recycling old posters of a musical event of more than five years ago – we still have a lot! –. Then I created a garland with metallic gift cards, following this suggestion and for the rest I made a couple of "focaccia" of Puglia, which had a great success. We also brought a couple of gifts that we would never use – better not to say though, you never know who reads your post, perhaps who gave them to us ;) –.

 

Non neghiamo che ci sono stati attimi di paura, quando ognuno di noi ha temuto di vincere alcuni premi, come i due spaventosi vasi artistici fatti in silicone (se ne vede uno nella foto), di un kitsch folle, che però qualcuno sembra aver apprezzato! 
Quest'anno pare che io sia "fortunata": ho vinto un paio di orecchini "catarifrangenti" (che però torneranno utili d'estate in bici!), uno specchietto in legno a forma di koala, due grotteschi musici indiani in legno (che sono andati a finire al mercatino dell'usato), un romanzo con tema cucina che è stato ceduto alla persona giusta, il mio moroso, il quale a sua volta mi ha ceduto il premio di una tombola, una borsa portacomputer da donna! :)

Insomma, non c'è da lamentarsi!
We do not deny that there were moments of fear, when everyone has feared to win some prizes, like two terrible artistic vases made of silicone – you can see one in the photo –, a kitsch item, but someone seems to have appreciated it!
This year it seems that I am "lucky": I won a pair of "reflectors" earrings – which, however, will be useful on the bike in summer! –, a koala-shaped wooden mirror, two Indian grotesque wooden musicians (which is gone to the flea market), a novel with a kitchen theme that was given to the right person, my boyfriend, who in turn has given me his lottery prize, a laptop bag for women! :)
In short, there is no reason to complain!

Eventi così ce ne vorrebbero più volte durante l'anno, anche perché il tempo passato assieme e le risate ci hanno dato una bella carica! Da quella sera dovremmo avere anche due volontarie in più!
Chissà, comunque, cosa combineremo con Mani Tese, quest'anno... vi aggiornerò!
I'd like to have more events like these several times during the year, partly because the time spent together and the laughs gave us a real boost! From that night we also have two more volunteers!

Il 2 febbraio ci sarà in tutta Italia il Pasta Madre Day, organizzato dalla Comunità del Cibo Pasta Madre. Una serie di eventi in contemporanea proposti e organizzati da varie persone per far conoscere e diffondere la pasta madre, questo lievito naturale sconosciuto ai più. Spero di poter partecipare a quello a me più vicino. Qui la mappa degli eventi già registrati. Se già utilizzate la pasta madre potete anche organizzarne uno e registrarvi qui.
On February 2, in the whole of Italy there will be the "Pasta Madre Day", organized by the Community of "Pasta Madre Food". A series of events simultaneously proposed and organized by various people to know and spread the natural yeast, unknown to most. I hope to participate at the closer one. A caccia di eco-regali / Searching for green gifts

Regali: il peggior incubo del Natale se vissuto quando sono fatti di fretta. Non ditemi che non vi è mai successo! A me capita praticamente tutti gli anni. Eppure fare i regali di Natale è una delle cose che mi piace fin da bambina, quando mi raccoglievo i miei risparmi per fare i regali a tutti in famiglia, soprattutto alla mia piccola sorellina.
Gifts: the worst nightmare of Christmas if you lived when they are done in a hurry. Do not tell me that it’s never happened to you! It’s almost every year to me. Yet making Christmas gifts is one of the things that I ever liked as a child, when I gathered my savings to make gifts to everyone in the family, especially my little sister. 

Quest’anno non sono forse nemmeno a metà dell’opera. Eppure voglia di spendere soldi ce n’è ben poca. Ho strabuzzato spesso gli occhi nelle mie indagini sul web non tanto sui vari gadget ipertecnologici, quanto più sui blog creativi che propongono eco-regali di tutti i tipi: oggetti fatti con materiali riciclati, abbigliamento ricavato da scarti tessili, cosmetici fatti in casa e barattoli pieni non solo di conserve casalinghe, ma anche di miscele per preparare infusi e condimenti.
Tutte bellissime cose, spesso affiancate ad iniziative di laboratori fai-da-te, come quello della cara Lo.
Peccato però essere così lontana da queste meravigliose persone che non solo trasmettono la loro passione e creatività agli altri ma rendono le cose più semplici, in questo periodo. E peccato non averci pensato prima, avrei potuto benissimo ordinare i regali sul web! :(
This year, maybe it’s not even half done. Still I want to spend so little money. I rubbed my eyes often in my researchs on the web not so much for hi-tech gadgets, but on creative blogs offering all kinds of eco-gifts: items made from recycled materials, clothing made from textiles waste, homemade cosmetics and jars filled not only with homemade jams, but also with mixtures for infusions and condiments.
All beautiful things, often flanked by DIY workshop, like the one of the dear Lo.
Too bad to be so far away from these wonderful people who not only give their passion and creativity to others but make things easier, especially this time. And what a pity not having thought before, I could have ordered gifts on the web! :( 

C’è poi qualcuno, qui vicino a me che ha queste fantastiche doti creative ma ha ben pensato di utilizzarle per fare regali da porgere ai propri amici. Parlo di Cristella, amica e blogger ormai da anni, che ha delle manine magiche e con tanta passione e pazienza ha realizzato all’uncinetto dei magnifici accessori (portacellulari, collane e bracciali) con un filo ricavato dalle calze di nylon riciclate. Guardate il suo post! Che bello essere stata fra le persone che hanno ricevuto questo prezioso regalo! Grazie di cuore Cri! Quest’anno sei stata più riciclosa di me! :)
Then there is someone next to me who has this fantastic creative talent but she well thougth to use it for making gifts to give to her friends. I’m talking about Cristella, friend and blogger for years, that has magic hands and with a lot of passion and patience made magnificent crochet accessories (holsters, necklaces and bracelets) with a wire made from recycled nylon stockings. Look at her post! Nice to be among people who received this precious gift! Thank you very much Cri! This year you were more green than me! :)

E per contraccambiare e fare dei piccoli pensieri anche agli altri amici volontari, col mio dolce personale Babbo Natale, siamo riusciti a fare degli squisiti biscotti speziati da appendere all’albero. Li vedrete presto su questi schermi!
And to thank her and make small gift to other volunteer friends, by the help of sweet personal Santa, I was able to give some delicious cookies to hang on the Christmas tree. See them soon on these screens!

Ma per tutti gli altri? Cosa mi è rimasto da fare? Quel poco di tempo che ho avuto finora sono andata alla ricerca di mercatini, ma nei giorni o negli orari sbagliati; ho girato con delle idee in testa senza trovare nulla o trovando cose adatte a persone che, invece, non vedrò per il Natale; oppure non ho colto al volo poche ghiotte occasioni…
But for everyone else? What to do? For the little time I had, I went in search of genuine Christmas markets, but I miss the right days and time. Then I went around with ideas in my head and found nothing but things for people who, however, I will not see for Christmas. I have also missed a few greedy occasions... 

Come quella, forse l’unica in Rimini, di “Matrioska”. Più che un mercatino vero e proprio sono state tre giornate (primo weekend di dicembre) in cui tutti i creativi della zona si sono dati appuntamento per esporre le loro fantastiche creazioni. Abbagliata dall’ambientazione ricreata fra un teatro e un vecchio chiostro e confusa dalle mille idee, sono riuscita ad acquistare solo per me, un oggetto che mi serviva assolutamente e di cui avevo scartato l’ipotesi fai-da-te, non essendone capace: una eco-custodia per il mio tablet. Eccola qui. Non è bellissima? Opera di The Park.
Like that – perhaps the only one in Rimini – “Matrioska”. It was more than a real market, three days (the first weekend of December) when all the creatives in the area have come together to show their fantastic creations. Dazzled by the location recreated in a theater and an old cloister and confused by hundreds of ideas, I was able to buy just for me an object that I needed, having absolutely rejected the hypothesis to do it myself, whilst not being able to: an eco-case for my tablet. … in piena primavera (anche con questo tempo pazzo)! Ma prima di aggiornarvi, vi metto al corrente di quel che è successo in questi giorni.
... in the middle of spring – even with this crazy weather –! But before updating, I want to let you know what happened during those days. 

Vi avevo lasciati con la storia di Chicco, che incredibilmente ha avuto un suo seguito: due giorni dopo il salvataggio del piccolo di gazza, ci siamo ritrovati a salvare anche il secondo piccolo della coppia, che ormai credo sia andata via, non avendo potuto far nulla per accudire i due pulcini del loro nido. Difatti, il secondo (Spillo), si è salvato per mano mia, prima dal pericolo della strada, dove era caduto e poi dalle grinfie di ben due gatti, stavolta! Per il salvataggio (non semplice, essendo il secondo più vivace, lo vedete dalla foto che non son riuscita a scattare) abbiamo operato con le stesse modalità, portando il secondo piccolo al Centro di Recupero Animali Selvatici, gestito dall’associazione onlus MARICLA.
Ho approfittato così di sapere come sta Chicco, il quale non era lì perché portato via per i controlli. Poverino, ha una malattia della pelle. Forse per il troppo prurito i due piccoli si sono mossi troppo nel nido e sono caduti. Speriamo che grazie alle cure dei volontari possano tornare a fare i loro primi tentativi di volo!
Intanto cercherò di sostenerli e continuerò ad informarmi sulla loro salute.
I left you with Chicco's story, which incredibly had a following. Two days after the rescue of the little magpie, we ended up saving the second smallest of the pair, which I think is now gone, having been unable to caring for the two chicks in their nest. In fact, the second (Spillo), was saved by my hand from the danger of the road, where he fell, and then from the clutches of two cats, this time! To rescue him – not easy, being the second most lively as you can see from the photos which was not able to shoot – we operated the same way, taking the second smallest to the Wildlife Recovery Centre, run by the non-profit organization MARICLA.
I took advantage of it to know how Chicco was. He was not there because they took away him for controls. Poor chick, he has a skin disease. Perhaps too itchy for the two little magpies, which fell for it from the nest. We hope that through the efforts of volunteers they can return to make their first attempts at flying!
Meanwhile I will continue to support and inform about their health.
Tra le tante cose di questo periodo movimentato mi sono persa la consueta edizione annuale di “Ecomia”, durante la quale ci sono state varie iniziative alle quali ha partecipato anche Mani Tese con la vendita di abbigliamento, oggetti e accessori second-hand.
Among the many things of this eventful period, I lost the usual annual edition of “Ecomia”, during which there were various initiatives to which Mani Tese attended with the sale of second-hand clothing items and accessories. 

Mi sono, poi, persa la “Notte Verde” di Forlì (potete leggerne qui). Un evento a cui non dovevo mancare, come creativa col pallino della eco-sostenibilità! Ci di voi ci è stato? Raccontatemi nei commenti!

Questa domenica, poi, era dedicata agli appassionati della bicicletta e dell’aria pulita. Anche qua tante iniziative organizzate dalla UISP di Rimini e dalla gran parte delle associazioni amanti della bici e dello sport. Peccato che il tempo non sia proprio adatto… chissà com’è andata!
Then this Sunday was dedicated to fans of cycling and clean air. Here, too many initiatives organized by UISP of Rimini and the other many bike and sport associations. Unfortunately the weather is too bad today ... I wonder how it went!

 

Non so quante cose mi sono persa ancora, ma non mi perdo d’animo, il bello deve ancora arrivare!

Il prossimo weekend è da trascorrere assolutamente tutti a Ravenna, dove si terrà la prima edizione di “Coltiviamo un’Altra Economia”, festa del commercio equo e dell’economia solidale!
Questa non potrò assolutamente perdermela, perché dal venerdì sera alla domenica sarà un susseguirsi di spettacoli, seminari, concerti, laboratori, incontri, passeggiate, cene, sfilate, tutto condito con giochi, aste, sfilate e… baratto! Scaricate il programma!
Be’ forse non vi ricordate bene la Fiera del Baratto a cui ero stata qualche tempo fa, andatelo a rileggere per capire l’entusiasmo con cui sono tornata quella volta da Ravenna. Ebbene sì, il “Villaggio Globale” di Ravenna è sempre il promotore di questi fantastici eventi, forte di un’unità di menti creative e piene di positività. Quest’anno ci voglio tornare e voglio conoscerle meglio per lasciarmi contagiare da questa bellissima ondata di cambiamento!

Well, perhaps you don’t remember well the Swop Fair where I was some time ago, go and read it again to understand the enthusiasm with which I came that time from Ravenna. Yes, the “Global Village” in Ravenna is always the promoter of these great events, creative and full of positivity great minds united. This year I want to go back there to know more about them to let me be influenced by this great wave of change!

Salvate le uova!!! / Save the eggs!!!

Pasqua è passata e chissà quanto spreco è passato dai nostri bidoni della spazzatura!
Sapete che io odio gli sprechi! E in questi giorni qui a casa abbiamo fatto di tutto per evitarli.
Fortuna ha voluto che il giorno di Pasqua siamo stati ospiti della carissima amica blogger Cristella, perché non c'erano posti in treno o bus per andare in Puglia (no comment, please!).
Quindi io e Irish ci siamo limitati a preparare il dolce (una specie di colomba fatta con un mix di due ricette diverse della Lo) e una quiche di asparagi come secondo alternativo vegetariano, visto che i primi lo erano già (una delle due principesse di regina Cristella è diventata vegetariana!!!).
Siamo tornati a casa con un bel vassoio di lasagne alle verdure avanzate (ottime!), che abbiamo consumato in pochissimo tempo. Anche la colomba è avanzata, ma stasera credo proprio che finirà definitivamente!
Easter is gone and who knows how much waste has gone in our trash bins!
You know I hate waste! And these days here at home we have done everything to avoid them.
Luckily on Easter Sunday we were guests of the dear blogger friend Cristella, because there were no seats in trains or buses to go to Puglia (no comment, please!).
So Irish and me had only to prepare the cake (a kind of "dove" made ​​with a mix of two different recipes of Lo) and a quiche of asparagus as a second vegetarian alternative, since the main courses were already vegetarian (one of the two queen Cristella's princesses has become veg!).
We came back home with a beautiful tray with vegetable lasagne (yum!) remained from lunch that we ate soon. The leftover cake remained until tonight... it is ending up permanently!

Premesso che per cucinare abbiamo comprato tutti ingredienti freschi all'ultimo minuto, selezionando dove possibile il "bio" e l'"equo", tutto ci aspettavamo fuorché di ritrovarci dopo Pasqua con ben 11 uova in più!!!
Ce le ha regalate la zia di Irish, che le compra da un contadino della zona. Si vede che sono uova diverse... più piccole e il colore del guscio è bianco! Se le avessi avute prima le avrei fatte sode e le avrei colorate per Pasqua magari con espedienti naturali come indicato nei commenti di questo vecchio post!
E invece ora che ci faccio? Oltretutto non sono più freschissime. La zia non ce la faceva a consumarle tutte!
Given that we cooked all with fresh ingredients bought at the last minute – selecting the "organic" and the "fair" ones where possible, we expected everything but to have still 11 more eggs after Easter!
They were given away by Irish's aunt, who bought them from a local farmer. These eggs are different, you see... smaller and the eggshell is white! If I'd have known before I boiled and colored them for Easter, maybe with natural expedients as shown in the comments of this old post!
But now what can I do? Moreover they are no longer fresh. Her aunt could not consume them all!

Allora mi appello alla rete tutta per aiutarmi a trovare una felice fine a queste uova... una ricetta, chessò, un suggerimento per conservarle ancora... ma vi prego non me le fate buttare!
So I make a plea to the entire web to help me to find a happy end to these eggs... a recipe or a suggestion to preserve them still... but please do not let me throw them!

Detto questo, vi racconto in breve ciò che mi sta succedendo per darvene un’idea, senza avere la pretesa di giustificare la mia ultima lunga assenza. 

That said, I will tell you briefly something about me to give you an idea, without pretending to justify my last long absence.

Sono arrivata nuovamente ad un “binario morto” per quanto riguarda il lavoro.

Si chiude un altro capitolo e si ricomincia con la trafila dell’invio curricula e aggiornamento di tutto ciò che mi servirà per cominciare nuove esperienze. Intendo anche rimettermi a studiare sulle nuove tecnologie utili al mio lavoro. Bisogna sempre essere aggiornati per essere competitivi nel mio settore! Quindi niente pause!

E anche se il vento soffia contro e tutti dicono che il lavoro non c’è, io continuo ad avere fiducia in me stessa, ad essere lungimirante e positiva. Non ho nulla da perdere!

Potrei anche studiare un piano B per la sopravvivenza. Starete a vedere. Io intanto non mi perdo d’animo!

I came back to a "dead end" for the job.

It closes another chapter and I must start sending curricula and making the update of all that I will need to begin new experiences. I also intend to get back to learn about new technologies useful for working. You should always be updated to be competitive in my job! So, no breaks!

And even if the wind blows against and all say that jobs are lacking, I continue to trust in myself, to be forward looking and positive. I have nothing to lose!

I might even consider a plan B for survival. You'll be seeing. Meanwhile, I did not lose heart!

Il mese scorso è volato via in fretta. Per almeno tre giorni alla settimana sono stata impegnata con le due solite attività di volontariato di sempre più una nuova.

Quindi la mia agenda virtuale (sul mio vecchio e fidato cellulare che inizia a perdere colpi) si è infittita di appuntamenti!

Riunioni su riunioni, sia per discutere delle cose ordinarie che degli eventi in calendario. 

The last month has flown by quickly. For at least three days a week I’ve been busy with the usual two volunteer tasks and one more new.

So my virtual agenda (on my old trusty phone that begins to falter) is full of appointments!

Meetings by meetings, to discuss the things that ordinary events as much as scheduled ones.

Così per Mani Tese abbiamo messo su il consueto “Ipermercatino dell'Usato” in piazza con la svendita di abbigliamento e accessori provenienti dal mercatino solidale. Un appuntamento di cui normalmente siamo sempre state entusiaste ma non questa volta. In una piazza frequentatissima di gente, di sabato mattina, abbiamo solo potuto contare sulla punta delle dita le persone interessate al banchetto. Un chiaro indice di crisi, ma anche di contraddizione e controtendenza rispetto al resto del mondo!

So for Mani Tese we put on the usual “Iper-Charity Second-Hand bench” in the square with the sale of clothing and accessories from the charity shop. An event which normally we have always been enthusiastic, but not this time. In a square crowded with people on a Saturday morning, we could only count on our fingers the people concerned at the bench. A clear sign of crisis, but also of contradiction and contrast with the rest of the world!

Altro tempo è stato dedicato alla preparazione degli eventi dell’associazione Ippocampo Viserba, come l’incontro con gli anziani del posto in un loro centro sociale e la prima uscita in piazza per i falò dedicati a San Giuseppe. Anche per il primo di questi incontri c’è stata un po’ di delusione vedendo gli anziani preferire di continuare le loro partite a carte piuttosto che riscoprire insieme a noi una cittadina piena di storie e curiosità. Ma che succede al mondo?

Poi fortunatamente l’evento successivo ci ha risollevato: al banchetto per la festa tradizionale della Focheraccia tanti sono stati i visitatori e i consensi per l'opera di recupero della memoria che stiamo facendo. 

More time was devoted to the preparation of the events of the association of  Ippocampo Viserba, such as meeting with the local elders in a social center and as the first exit into the main square for the bonfires dedicated to St. Joseph. Also for the first of these meetings there was a bit of disappointment seeing the elderly prefer to continue their card games rather than discover with us a place full of stories and curiosities. But what happens in the world?

Then the next event fortunately raised us: the banquet for the traditional feast of Focheraccia called  many visitors acclaiming for the work of memory recovering we are doing.

Come terzo impegno della settimana, o meglio quello di mezzo, io e il mio compagno abbiamo continuato a frequentare il corso sui rifiuti organizzato dall’Università Aperta di Rimini. Ve ne avevo già accennato all’inizio ma vorrei parlarvene in un post a parte, perché merita. Ho imparato moltissime cose, grazie alla bravissima docente, e abbiamo chiarito tante perplessità, cosa che accade quasi sempre quando si parla di rifiuti.

As a third commitment of the week, or rather the middle, my partner and I continued to attend the class about waste treatment, organized by the Open University of Rimini. I mentioned it at the beginning but I would tell you about it in a separate post, because it deserves. I learned so many things, thanks to very good teacher, and we have clarified many doubts, which happens almost always when it comes to waste.

Fra le tante cose, è uscito anche un trafiletto che parla del mio blog su questa rivista. Un articolo che parla del mondo di noi blogger in quel del riminese. Per fortuna non c’è il mio brutto faccione, ma sono stata molto contenta di essere stata ospitata da Rimini InMagazine ancora una volta! Spero di non aver deluso con la mia assenza i miei nuovi lettori approdati qui da quelle pagine.

Among the many things, a short article that talks about my blog in this magazine was edited. It is an article that talks about the world of us bloggers in the area of Rimini.
