It’s time for Dandaworld’s news!

Lo so che siete lì! Il tempo è tiranno per chi è in vacanza, ma che c’è di meglio di rilassarsi e mettersi a leggere e curiosare fra i blog? In vacanza c’è più tempo per dedicarsi alla lettura, no?
Quindi è arrivato il tempo di aggiornarvi.
Durante questo mese ne sono successe di cose, ma cercerò di non annoiarvi. Per riassumere il mio stato, in questo periodo questa è la frase più azzeccata di una famosa canzone – che io adoro – “Oh my life, is changing every day, in every possible way”! (“Dreams” by the Cranberries)
I know there you are! Weather is bad for those who are on holiday, but what about relaxing, reading and browsing through the blogs? On holiday there is more time to dedicate reading, isn’t it?
So now is the time to update news.
During this month plenty of things have happened, but I'll try not to bore you. To sum up my mood, at this time the most apt phrase from a famous song – which I love – is: "Oh my life, is changing every day, in every possible way"! ("Dreams" by the Cranberries)

Cominciamo dalla novità più bella: questo blog mi ha portato sicuramente tante nuove amicizie, mi ha dato la possibilità di scambiare opinioni, condividere col mondo interessi, pensieri, gioie e preoccupazioni ma mai avrei immaginato che mi avrebbe portato una nuova opportunità di lavoro! Sì, da poco ho iniziato a collaborare con un’azienda che fa della sostenibilità ambientale la sua mission e io sono la più felice del mondo!
Ora sono solo agli inizi, ma è inutile dire che mi sento proprio a mio agio! Ho conosciuto delle belle persone e spero che il tutto possa avere degli sviluppi sempre più interessanti e coinvolgenti. In tutto questo sono eternamente grata alla mia amica Nicoletta che ha avuto un ruolo fondamentale nel connettere me con queste persone.
Vi dirò qualcosa di più prossimamente, ma voi intanto pensatemi intensamente! ;)
Let's start from the best news: this blog has brought me many new friends, it definitely gave me the opportunity to share point of views, interests, thoughts, joys and concerns with the world but I never imagined that it would give me a new job opportunity! Yes, I just started to work with a company that makes environmental sustainability its mission and I am the happiest woman in the world!
Now I’m just starting, but it is needless to say that I feel really at ease! I met some nice people and I hope that everything will have increasingly interesting and engaging developments. By the way I am eternally grateful to my friend Nicoletta who has played a key role in connecting me with these people.
I'll tell you something more soon, but in the meantime think about me intensely, please! ;)

Questo periodo è stato ancora caratterizzato dalla sistemazione ed ottimizzazione degli spazi domestici, dopo gli intensi lavori del mese scorso. Abbiamo dovuto, quindi, fare molto ‘decluttering’, come già annunciato, portando ai mercatini dell’usato molte delle cose accumulate negli anni. C’è da dire che però anche i mercatini in questo periodo sono pienissimi e la gente difficilmente compra. Quindi ho adottato un piano B. Mi sono iscritta ad un sito dov’è possibile barattare le proprie cose con quelle di altre persone. Si tratta di Soloscambio.it. Per il momento ho già un paio di scambi portati a termine e alcuni altri in corso. La cosa bella è che ho già stretto amicizia via mail con alcune persone molto simpatiche. E il primo pacchetto che mi è arrivato, con un simpatico libro di cucina scozzese a fumetti – per il mio cuoco! – mi è stato recapitato a casa con un imballo fatto con una scatola di cereali (in foto). E io non posso che essere felice, questo posto fa proprio per me!

This period has been characterized by the arrangement and optimization of domestic spaces, after the intense works of last month. Therefore, we had to do decluttering, as already announced, bringing many of the things accumulated over the years to the second-hand shops. Really even these places in this period are fullest of stuff and people hardly buy. So I adopted a B plan. I signed up to a site where you can barter your own thing with those ones of other people. It is Soloscambio.it. For the moment I have a couple of exchanges completed and some others in progress. The nice thing is that I have new friends via e-mail, some very nice people. And the first package I received, with a nice Scottish comic cookbook inside – for my chef! – was delivered at home with a package made from a cereal box (pictured). And I can not be happy, this place is just for me!

Nel frattempo le attività nello spazio ReDiVita, nonostante l’estate e le bizze del tempo, hanno continuato a fervere. Ultimo avvenimento a cui ho partecipato: un divertente laboratorio per bambini, tardo-pomeridiano organizzato dai MakeRN e a cura di Mani Tese Rimini, per creare con le mani fantastiche creature luminose... con pongo conduttivo fai-da-te e LED! È stato curioso vedere come i bambini abbiano subito appreso come utilizzare la polarità e la proprietà conduttiva di questo pongo creato con materiali naturali. Non c’è niente da fare i bambini di oggi sono incredibilmente più svegli di noi alla loro stessa età!
Sulla scia di questo laboratorio, a settembre tenteremo un nuovo esperimento: un faro luminoso, costruito con materiale di recupero. Restate sintonizzati!
Meanwhile, activities in ReDiVita space – despite the summer and the whims of the time – continued to increase. Last event I attended: a fun workshop for children, in the late-afternoon organized by MakeRN and edited by Mani Tese Rimini, to create by hand fantastic lighted creatures... with conductive do-it-yourself dough and LEDs! It was curious to see how the children learned quickly how to use the polarity and the conductive properties of this dough created with natural materials. Today's kids are incredibly smarter than us at the same age!
In the wake of this workshop, in September we will try a new experiment: a bright lighthouse, built with recycled materials. Stay tuned!

Altre belle cose di questo periodo: un fantastico concertone durante la nostra Notte Rosa, con la bravissima Elisa – che, se non lo sapete, è anche una che ha molto a cuore l’ambiente, ma ne parleremo un’altra volta –; un altro ‘salvataggio’ in giardino, di un pulcino di merlo che la sua mamma si era perso dopo una giornata di temporali – peccato non avere foto per documentarne la tenerezza –; acquisti ecologici; la mia e-bike che riprende vita grazie agli spostamenti da fare per lavoro.
Other nice things about this period: a great big concert during our Pink Night with the talented Elisa Toffoli – that if you do not know, it is also one that cares a lot about the environment, but I’ll tell you soon –; another 'rescue' in the garden, a blackbird chick that lost her mother after a day of storms – shame not to have photos to show you their tenderness –; green purchases; my e-bike which comes to life thanks to the movements to do for work.

E poi sì, purtroppo, ci sono anche delle cose che non vanno proprio bene, ma sempre per dirla in musica, questa volta con le parole di Elisa, “Un segreto è fare tutto come se vedessi solo il sole” (“Qualcosa che non c’è”)! ;)

È nata la… “Casetta sul Terrazzo”!!! / It was born the... “Cottage on the Patio”!

Solitamente mi piace parlarvi di quello che succede nel mio giardino, che è la mia quotidiana postazione di osservazione della natura, anche se nella realtà è proprio un microcosmo.
Invece, fra un po’ vi parlerò di quello che succede in un altro spazio all’aperto, questa volta non più un giardino, ma un terrazzo, sì un terrazzo che sta sopra ad un edificio particolare e sul quale terrazzo sta… una casetta!!!
I usually like to talk to you about what's happening in my garden, which is the location of my daily observation of nature, although in reality it is just a microcosm.
Instead, soon I'll talk about what is happening in another outdoor space, this time not a garden but a patio, yes, a patio above a particular building and above the patio there is... a cottage!!!

La “Casetta sul Terrazzo” è uno spazio per laboratori di riuso creativo gestito dalla Cooperativa ManiTese di cui, lo sapete, sono volontaria da molti anni.
È stata finalmente aperta domenica scorsa, durante una “tre giorni” dedicata all'inaugurazione della Casa sull'Albero spazio dell'Associazione ReDiVita.
The “Cottage on the Patio” is a space for creative reuse workshops run by ManiTese Cooperative of which, you know, I am a volunteer since many years.
It was finally opened last Sunday, during a three days event dedicated to the inauguration of the ReDiVita Association’s Tree House area.

L’aspetto che più mi piace di questo spazio è che sorge in un edificio sfitto, semi abbandonato e poi recuperato, un ex negozio di materiale elettrico su tre piani, in Via della Circonvallazione Occidentale 32 a Rimini. Chi frequenta da anni il mercatino di Mani Tese di Rimini, se le ricorda bene queste vetrine sempre chiuse e spente…
Era nell’aria che questo posto doveva tornare a vivere e da ora in poi diventerà un punto di riferimento stabile per i creativi che hanno nel cuore la passione per il recupero e la sostenibilità ambientale.
The thing I like most about this space is that it is located in a vacant building, semi-abandoned and later recovered, a former electronics store on three floors, in 32 via della Circonvallazione Occidentale in Rimini. Who attended for years the charity shop of Mani Tese Rimini, well remembers these windows always closed...
It was in the air that this place had to go back to live from now on, becoming a stable reference point for creative people who have in their hearts the passion for reuse and environmental sustainability.

L'animazione della "Compagnia Le Pu-Pazze" e il laboratorio di girandole di Mani Tese

 

Domenica scorsa, dopo tanta fatica per rimettere a posto questi ambienti un po’ abbandonati, Mani Tese ha aperto i battenti della porzione dell’edificio, la “Casetta”, in cui si terranno vari laboratori di riuso sia per bambini che per adulti nei prossimi mesi.
La mattina sul terrazzo, allestito dal bravissimo Manolo Benvenuti, conosciuto in tutta Europa come un innovativo reuse-designer, c’è stata l’animazione per bambini della Compagnia Le Pu-Pazze, con il divertente teatrino di pupazzi realizzati con stoffe e materiali di scarto.
Nel pomeriggio abbiamo allestito un piccolo laboratorio per bambini dedicato alla  creazione di girandole, sempre con materiale recuperato (in questo caso carta delle uova di Pasqua, tappi di sughero, stecchini, cartoncino).
Last Sunday, after so much effort to renovate these a bit abandoned rooms, Mani Tese opened the doors of the portion of the building, the “Cottage”, in which many re-use workshops for both children and adults will take place during the next months.
In the morning on the patio, set up by the excellent Manolo Benvenuti – known throughout Europe as an innovative reuse-designer – there was entertainment for children by Le Pu-Pazze Society, a funny theater with puppets made by wasted fabrics and materials.
In the afternoon we set up a small workshop for children dedicated to creating pinwheels, always with reuse material (in this case paper from Easter eggs, corks, sticks, cardboard).

Da giugno partirà il programma dei laboratori più o meno a tema marino che si alterneranno sul terrazzo (o nella Casetta, a seconda del tempo), mentre da settembre, la stessa Casetta ospiterà un Atelier Permanente dei materiali di recupero.
Io sarò presente almeno in due occasioni e gestirò i laboratori dei bambini, assieme a gli altri volontari manitesini. La Casetta sul Terrazzo sarà un bel posto rilassante per prendersi un po’ di pausa dal primo sole estivo e divertirsi con creatività! Veniteci a trovare!!!
From June the program will start with almost a seaside theme workshop that will alternate on the patio (or cottage, depending on the weather), while in September, the same Cottage will host a Permanent Workshop of recycled materials.
I will be there on at least two occasions and will manage the laboratories of the children, along with other Mani Tese volunteers. The Cottage on the Patio will be a nice relaxing place to take a little break from the first summer sun and to have fun with creativity! Come and visit us!

Upcycling Christmas 2013

Ehm, sì, un po' fuori tempo come al solito!!! Volevo farvi gli auguri di Buon Natale con questa immagine. 
Sono i miei esperimenti per un workshop di riciclo di Mani Tese per bambini, in collaborazione con il Centro per le Famiglie di Rimini, che si è tenuto il 7 dicembre.
Il tema era, ovviamente, il Natale e l'obiettivo era quello di riciclare la maggior parte possibile degli imballaggi alimentari accumulati.
Quindi, potete vedere nei riquadri pupazzetti luminosi fatti con i flaconcini dei fermenti lattici, angioletti con l'anima fatta di bottiglie in PET e ali con i vassoi dei pasticcini, decorazioni con i tubi di cartone della carta assorbente o con i tappi delle conserve e carta da regalo, alberelli fatti con i sacchetti delle patatine o con i contenitori in plastica delle uova e, infine, personaggi del presepe o renne fatte con i tappi in sughero, stoffa, stecchini, tappi metallici, polistirolo e cotonfiocchi.
Mettere qui dei tutorial per ognuno sarebbe troppo lungo, però sono cose molto semplici, basta mettere in azione la creatività e la manualità.

Uhm, yes, a little out of time as usual! I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas with this picture.
They are my experiments for an upcycling workshop of Mani Tese for children – in collaboration with the Center for Families of Rimini – which was held on December 7. 
The theme was, of course, Christmas and the goal was to recycle as much as possible of food packaging accumulated on these days.So, you can see above light-puppets made ​​with the little bottles of lactic ferments, angels with a soul made ​​of PET bottles and wings with trays of pastries, decorations made of cardboard tubes or caps with wrapping paper, trees made ​​with chips wraps or plastic containers of eggs and, finally, the characters of the nativity scene or reindeers made ​​with cork, fabric, toothpicks, metal caps, polystyrene and cotton buds.

Eventi passati e futuri / Past and next events

Rieccomi qui! Non voglio far passare questo mese senza farvi avere notizie di me!
Here I am again! I do not want to pass this month without getting to hear news from me!

Come sempre i giorni volano e le cose da fare sono sempre tante, lavoro in primis, però il blog è sempre fra i miei pensieri, soprattutto quando succedono certe cose che vorrei tanto condividere con voi. Mi spiace solo di esser costretta a condividerle quando sono ormai passate, ma non preoccupatevi, ho qualche evento pronto per voi!
As always, the days fly by and things to do are always many, working first, but the blog is always on my mind, especially when certain things happen and I'd love to share them with you. I only regret being forced to share when they are past, but do not worry, I have some events ready for you!

L'ultimo di cui voglio darvi solo qualche flash è stato venerdì scorso. Una festicciola insolita che sa di "swap" – e la mia amica PeSte non me ne voglia ma non resisto ad usare questa parola ;) – e di retrogusto natalizio.
Con le amiche volontarie di Mani Tese abbiamo organizzato una tombolata riciclosa, un "Ritombolone" per stare insieme alle persone che hanno prestato il loro tempo all'iniziativa dei pacchetti in questa libreria e ringraziarle, divertendoci a riciclare ciò che di Natale non è stato "digerito"... già, quindi, panettoni, torroncini, vini e dolcini vari come ristoro e tanti tanti regali di cui ciascuno di noi voleva fare a meno, perché già in possesso, perché non adatto al guardaroba o perché non proprio corrispondente al proprio gusto, assegnati come premi.
The last I want to give you just a few flashes occurred last Friday. An unusual party, a sort of "swap" – my friend PeSte must forgive me but I can not resist using this word ;) – and something with an aftertaste of Christmas.
With volunteers friends of Mani Tese we organized, the "Ritombolone" (a swap bingo) to be with the people who have given their time to the initiative of the packages in this library, and to thank them, having fun and swapping that on Christmas was not "digested"... yes, so, panettone, nougat, wine and sweets as various dining options and many, many gifts awarded as prizes. Things that each of us wanted to give away, because already had, because they do not fit the wardrobe or because don't match your own taste.

C'è da dire che ci siamo proprio divertiti!!!
Io e Irish abbiamo realizzato il tabellone riciclando dei vecchi manifesti di un evento musicale ormai passato più di cinque anni fa (ne abbiamo ancora un sacco!). Poi io ho creato un festone con le carte da regalo metallizzate, seguendo questo suggerimento e per il ristoro ho fatto un paio di focacce pugliesi, che hanno avuto un grande successo. Abbiamo contribuito anche noi con un paio di regali che non avremmo mai utilizzato – meglio non dire però, non si sa mai che il post lo legga chi ce li ha regalati! ;) –.
We had really a great time!
Irish and me made the bingo board, recycling old posters of a musical event of more than five years ago – we still have a lot! –. Then I created a garland with metallic gift cards, following this suggestion and for the rest I made a couple of "focaccia" of Puglia, which had a great success. We also brought a couple of gifts that we would never use – better not to say though, you never know who reads your post, perhaps who gave them to us ;) –.

 

Non neghiamo che ci sono stati attimi di paura, quando ognuno di noi ha temuto di vincere alcuni premi, come i due spaventosi vasi artistici fatti in silicone (se ne vede uno nella foto), di un kitsch folle, che però qualcuno sembra aver apprezzato! 
Quest'anno pare che io sia "fortunata": ho vinto un paio di orecchini "catarifrangenti" (che però torneranno utili d'estate in bici!), uno specchietto in legno a forma di koala, due grotteschi musici indiani in legno (che sono andati a finire al mercatino dell'usato), un romanzo con tema cucina che è stato ceduto alla persona giusta, il mio moroso, il quale a sua volta mi ha ceduto il premio di una tombola, una borsa portacomputer da donna! :)

Insomma, non c'è da lamentarsi!
We do not deny that there were moments of fear, when everyone has feared to win some prizes, like two terrible artistic vases made of silicone – you can see one in the photo –, a kitsch item, but someone seems to have appreciated it!
This year it seems that I am "lucky": I won a pair of "reflectors" earrings – which, however, will be useful on the bike in summer! –, a koala-shaped wooden mirror, two Indian grotesque wooden musicians (which is gone to the flea market), a novel with a kitchen theme that was given to the right person, my boyfriend, who in turn has given me his lottery prize, a laptop bag for women! :)
In short, there is no reason to complain!

Eventi così ce ne vorrebbero più volte durante l'anno, anche perché il tempo passato assieme e le risate ci hanno dato una bella carica! Da quella sera dovremmo avere anche due volontarie in più!
Chissà, comunque, cosa combineremo con Mani Tese, quest'anno... vi aggiornerò!
I'd like to have more events like these several times during the year, partly because the time spent together and the laughs gave us a real boost! From that night we also have two more volunteers!
I wonder, however, what we will do with Mani Tese, this year ... I will update you!

Domenica prossima, 27 gennaio, al Castello di Sorrivoli, (Roncofreddo di Cesena), dalle 9.30 alle 18.00 ci sarà una giornata dedicata al libero scambio di semi, organizzata dall'Ecoistituto di Cesena, con dibattiti interessanti. Qui trovate maggiori informazioni.
Next Sunday, January 27, at the Castle of Sorrivoli (Roncofreddo Cesena), from 9.30 to 18.00 there will be a day dedicated to the free exchange of seeds, organized from the Ecoinstitute of Cesena, with interesting debates. Here you will find more information.

Il 2 febbraio ci sarà in tutta Italia il Pasta Madre Day, organizzato dalla Comunità del Cibo Pasta Madre. Una serie di eventi in contemporanea proposti e organizzati da varie persone per far conoscere e diffondere la pasta madre, questo lievito naturale sconosciuto ai più. Spero di poter partecipare a quello a me più vicino. Qui la mappa degli eventi già registrati. Se già utilizzate la pasta madre potete anche organizzarne uno e registrarvi qui.
On February 2, in the whole of Italy there will be the "Pasta Madre Day", organized by the Community of "Pasta Madre Food". A series of events simultaneously proposed and organized by various people to know and spread the natural yeast, unknown to most. I hope to participate at the closer one. Incontri recenti: Mani Tese & ReeDo / Recent meetings with... Mani Tese and ReeDo

Dunque, dunque… riprendendo il precedente post, comincerei a raccontarvi brevemente cosa è successo prima di Natale, tra un’ora e un’altra dedicata all’impacchettamento dei regali per Mani Tese alla Feltrinelli, operazione fra l’altro andata per il meglio sia per la raccolta fondi, che per la meravigliosa collaborazione e amicizia stretta con numerosi volontari, straordinari in tutti i sensi, ragione per cui vi consiglio vivamente, per il prossimo dicembre, di unirvi a tale iniziativa nel comune con sede Feltrinelli a voi più vicino!

So, returning to the previous post ... I would begin to tell you briefly what happened before Christmas, in an hour and another dedicated to the making of gifts for Mani Tese at Feltrinelli bookshop. Among other things it went for the best both for fundraising, and for for the wonderful collaboration and close friendship with many volunteers, that were extraordinary in every sense.  Which is why I highly recommend, for next December, to join this initiative in the cities with a Feltrinelli bookshop near you!

Con la stessa Mani Tese, come di consueto ogni Natale, abbiamo partecipato ad “Equamente”, contenitore di eventi che si ripete qui a Rimini due volte l’anno, dove, unite ad un mercatino equo-solidale, tante associazioni di volontariato sono invitate coi loro banchetti per svariate finalità umanitarie e sociali. Il nostro è stato dedicato, per la prima volta, alla raccolta fondi per un nuovo progetto scelto dal nostro gruppo, la campagna “Intrattabili” per l’informazione e il recupero tra i bambini colpiti dal trafficking in Cambogia. Eravamo lì con l’artigianato proveniente dalla stessa Cambogia e con dei bellissimi cesti realizzati dalla brava Sabrina, con oggetti provenienti dal nostro mercatino dell’usato. Purtroppo devo dire che la crisi si sente anche molto nel volontariato… pochissime vendite, ma fortunatamente tanto interesse.

Every Christmas as usual, with the same Mani Tese, we attended “Equamente”, the container of events which is repeated twice a year in Rimini. Here, together with a fair-trade market, many voluntary associations are invited with their banquets for various humanitarian and social purposes. Ours has been dedicated, for the first time, to raise funds for a new project chosen by our group, the “Intractables” campaign for the information and the recovery of children affected by trafficking in Cambodia. We were there with crafts coming from Cambodia and with beautiful baskets made by good Sabrina, made with objects from our second-hand shop. Unfortunately I have to say that the crisis is felt also in fund-raising ... very few sales, but fortunately a lot of interest.

Quello che, invece, mi aspettavo, data la gratuità e la particolarità dell’iniziativa, era più partecipazione ad un divertente laboratorio di eco-fashion, organizzato dalle ragazze di ReeDo. ReeDo è un laboratorio fondato nell’ambito della facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia, Corso di Laurea magistrale in Moda, dell’Università di Bologna, polo di Rimini, che si propone di realizzare capi di abbigliamento e accessori, utilizzando gli scarti di stoffe, ritagli di vestiti o anche borse e scarpe inutilizzate. Queste ragazze simpaticissime e dalla grande vena creativa, con cui ho poi avuto modo di chiacchierare durante e dopo il laboratorio, sono capaci di creare dei fantastici capi con qualsiasi cosa: jeans, camicie, maniche di maglie, bottoni… le loro creazioni sono completamente nuove e originali!

What, however, I was expecting, given the gratuity and the uniqueness of the initiative, was the participation in a fun workshop of eco-fashion, organized by the ReeDo girls. ReeDo is a laboratory based in the Faculty of Humanities, Undergraduate Degree in Fashion, University of Bologna, Rimini Campus, which aims to create garments and accessories, using scraps of fabrics, trimmings unused clothes or shoes, bags. Then I had the opportunity to chat during and after the workshop with these girls which are likeable and have a great creativity, being able to create fantastic garments with anything: jeans, shirts, sleeve shirts, buttons ... their designs are completely fresh and original!

Peccato non poter documentare con foto di ciò che sono in grado di creare, ma posso mostrarvi la bizzarra collana venuta fuori tagliando striscioline di maglie colorate… l’ho realizzata io stessa seguendo le loro indicazioni e la mia (scarsa) fantasia! :)

Il bello dei loro laboratori è che loro sono capaci di stimolare la tua stessa inventiva, rendendoti completamente partecipe dell’atto creativo!

Too bad not being able to document with pictures of what they are able to create, but I can show the bizarre necklace came out cutting strips of colored shirts ... I made it myself by following their directions and my (lack of) imagination! :)

The beauty of their labs is that they are able to stimulate your own imagination, making you fully participate in the creative act!

Insomma, sono rimasta molto colpita dalla loro fantasia e soprattutto dall’entusiasmo che ci mettono, sia pur davanti a poche persone interessate. Un peccato che molti si siano persi quel laboratorio per andare, invece, in giro a fare inutili sperperi di denaro…

Io sono molto felice di aver conosciuto ReeDo, e spero di poter incontrare loro nuovamente, magari collaborando presto con loro a qualche nuova iniziativa!

In short, I was very impressed by their creativity and above all the enthusiasm that they bring, even in front of a few people interested. A pity that many have lost that lab for going, instead, around doing useless waste of money ...

I am very happy to have known ReeDo, and I hope to meet them again, perhaps soon collaborating with them for new initiatives!

Si parte con... AmbienteFestival!!! / Let's start with... AmbienteFestival!!!

Siete tutti pronti per AmbienteFestival?
Bene! La manifestazione riminese, tutta dedicata all'ambiente – quest'anno in particolare alla biodiveristà –, arrivata alla sua seconda edizione, è già partita oggi – qualche giorno fa con qualche anteprima – con un ricchissimo programma di iniziative per tutti, dai piccoli ai grandi, coinvolgendo cittadinanza e visitatori.
Il calendario, che potete consultare qui, si snoda dal 29 ottobre al 7 novembre 2010, accompagnando, quindi, anche la più nota esposizione Ecomondo, che invece si terrà in fiera, sempre a Rimini, dal 3 al 6 novembre 2010.
Are you ready for AmbienteFestival?
Well! The event, all dedicated to environment – this year to the biodiversity – come to the 2nd edition, already started today in Rimini – some days ago with some preview – with a very rich program of initiatives for everone, young, old, citizens and visitors.
The schedule – you can find it here – includes all the days from October 29th to November 7th, contemporary to the more famous Ecomondo, the exhibition that will occurr from 3rd to 6th November, even in Rimini.   

La città di Rimini in questi giorni si trasforma, prende colore e rinnova la sua spiccata inclinazione alla sostenibilità ambientale.
Ci saranno mostre di ogni tipo, botteghe e stand, laboratori, conferenze, presentazioni di libri.
During these days the city of Rimini is changing, take colours and renews its strong interests toward the evironmental sustainability.
There will be exhibitions, green shops, laboratories, conferences and book presentations. 

Anche io parteciperò con Mani Tese ai due laboratori che si terranno al palazzo del Podestà domani 30 ottobre: il primo sarà un laboratorio dedicato al riciclo delle nostre preferite t-shirt, che saranno trasformate in meravigliose borsine; nel secondo faremo divertire i più piccini a creare con ritagli di stoffe, lana, bottoni e altro il loro personale mostro di Halloween...
Sarà divertente e non tarderò a farvi un resoconto della giornata.

I will participate too with Mani Tese to the two laboratories that will be played in the Podestà palace tomorrow, 30th October: the first laboratory will be dedicated to the recycle of our favourite t-shirts. They will be transformed in wonderful bags. In the second one we will have fun with the childern creating their own halloween monster with scraps of fabrics, wool, buttons and other kinds of materials. 
We will enjoy it and I'll tell you soon.

"V" come volontariato / "V" as Volunteer

Dunque, dove eravamo rimasti?
Scusate, mi sono un po’ persa per strada… e la colonna laterale dell’archivio del mio blog piange, segnalando tristemente soli due post per questo mese! Accidenti!
Soprattutto chi di voi si sarà affacciato su questo blog dopo la mia comparsa in TV, sarà forse un po’ deluso. Ebbene, ci tengo a precisare che non sono una blogger di quelle che scrivono quasi tutti i giorni. Semplicemente non gliela fo.
Per i miei post prendo spunto dalle mie esperienze personali di tutti i giorni, è ovvio che, se ultimamente sono sempre presa dal lavoro o in altre faccende affaccendata durante il tempo libero, non riesco anche ad aggiornare al blog.
Ma non voglio scoraggiarvi e per mettervi al corrente di quanto sto facendo, vi scrivo qui questo post-minestrone sul… volontariato!
Well, where did I leave you?
Sorry, I was a bit lost… and the blog archive in the sidebar cries, showing only two post for this month! Blimey!
Especially who popped over here, after I was appeared on TV, could be a bit disappointed. Well, I want to specify that I’m not that kind of blogger who writes almost every day. Simply I’m not able.
For my blog posts I take inspirations from my daily personal experiences. It is clear that if I am too much busy for work or during time off, I can’t update the blog.
But I don’t want to discourage you and in order to let you know what I am doing, I’ll write here this “minestrone”-blog post about… volunteering!

Lavoro a parte, questo periodo è caratterizzato da numerosi impegni a livello di volontariato.
Sapete già quasi tutti che oramai sono parte integrante del gruppo di volontari di Mani Tese della mia città, del quale curo anche il blog locale. Vi ricordate il precedente post che parlava di un fantastico evento tenutosi a settembre dello scorso anno?
Bene, stiamo organizzando un nuovissimo “Alternative in Strada” che questa volta si terrà a Santarcangelo di Romagna il 6 giugno imminente.
Except working, lately I am too much busy with volunteering.
Almost all of you know that I am part of the local Mani Tese group, which blog I care the update too. Did you remember an old post about a fantastic event in September 2009?
Well, we are organizing a new “Alternative in strada”. It will take place in Santarcangelo of Romagna on the next 6th June.

Per questo non sono solamente implicata nell’organizzazione generale della manifestazione, ma assieme ad altre volontarie mi occuperò della parte dei laboratori di autoproduzione.
In particolare sarò presente con un laboratorio sul compostaggio domestico, in cui racconterò dal vivo la mia esperienza personale in materia. Se volete venire a trovarmi fate pure, io sarò felice di ricevervi e raccontarvi di persona la mia avventura.
Anche gli altri laboratori sono molto interessanti: ci sarà quello sui detersivi fai-da-te, quello sui pannolini lavabili, quello sul pane fatto in casa ed anche un laboratorio/gioco fai-da-te per i più giovani.
For this reason I am not only involved in the general organization of the event, but with some others volunteers I will take part in self-making laboratories.
In particular I’ll manage a lab about home-composting, where I’ll show my personal composting experience. If you want to come to visit me, it would be very nice and I will be very happy to meet you and tell you on my adventure.
Even the other labs are very interesting: there will be a self-making labs on detergents, a lab on washable diapers, a lab on homemade bread and a play-lab for kids.

All’interno della manifestazione ci saranno anche numerosi artisti del riciclo, le associazioni locali che operano nel campo della cooperazione e della solidarietà, la ormai nota “boicottega” con annessa mostra, il mercatino dell’usato solidale e infine musica dal vivo!
Quindi fossi in voi, se siete dalle nostre parti, non mi perderei quest’occasione utile anche per visitare la bellissima città di Santarcangelo e la fiera mensile dell’antiquariato!
There will be also numerous recycling artists, local associations for world co-operation and aid, the famous “boycotting shop” with its show, the second-hand market and also live music!
So if I was in your shoes and was around here, I wouldn’t miss this occasion useful to visit also the beautiful town of Santarcangelo and the antiquities fair!

Oltre a questo grande evento, sono molto presa dalle attività con un’altra associazione, L’Ippocampo, nata pochi mesi fa nella mia zona, Viserba, che si prefigge di recuperare la memoria attraverso il racconto delle persone che vi abitano o che sono state qui da turisti, e attraverso la raccolta di materiale di qualsiasi tipo (foto, video, letteratura) che ne documentino la storia.
Questo perché la riviera adriatica è un posto prevalentemente turistico e il susseguirsi delle stagioni, il via vai dei villeggianti, ma soprattutto la forte urbanizzazione hanno spesso snaturato i luoghi e le tradizioni locali. Altre volte però anche le stesse persone di passaggio hanno arricchito di colore la scenografia locale, regalando curiosi aneddoti che è veramente uno spasso scoprire.
This great event apart, I am very involved in the activities with another association, L’Ippocampo, born some months ago in my area, Viserba. It aims to recover the memory through the stories of inhabitants or tourists and through the collection of various kinds of material about the heritage (photos, videos and literature) documenting history.
This idea occurred because the Adriatic Riviera is a typical tourism place and the succession of seasons, the coming and going of tourists, but especially the strong urbanization have often distorted the look of places and the traditions. Even if sometimes visitors gave new colours to the scenery, giving curious anecdotes which is a real pleasure to discover.

Pur non essendo originaria della zona, mi sono appassionata alla storia del posto, ma soprattutto alle persone che conservano dentro i loro ricordi ed esperienze dei tesori immensi. È una meravigliosa sensazione stare ad ascoltare queste persone, soprattutto le più anziane e immaginare cosa hanno visto i loro occhi, che si illuminano e diventano lucidi a rievocare alcuni episodi.
Io nel mio piccolo cerco di tradurre tutto ciò in segni, apportando il mio contributo volontario professionale. Ogni ricordo e spunto viene poi riportato in un sito e poi in un blog, dove c’è davvero da scoprire tante curiosità.
Per chi è stato da queste parti a godere del mare, anche solo per un giorno della stagione estiva, sarà una piacevole sorpresa conoscere tante cose particolari che nascono proprio qui, nella zona a nord di Rimini, un tempo patria di contadini e pescatori, ma anche un luogo illustre, meta di personaggi noti e facoltosi. Tutti indifferentemente hanno contribuito a rendere unico questo posto.
Even if I’m not native of this place, I became passionate about the local heritage, especially about the people who keep huge treasures inside their memories and experiences.
In my own small way, I try to translate all this in graphics, giving my professional aid as volunteer.
Then every memory or cue is registered in a website and also in a blog, where you can find more and more to discover.
Who knows this place for the seaside, even only for a summer day, will be well surprised in knowing so many particular things typical of this area, in the North of Rimini, once the country of fishermen and farmers, but also a illustrious place, destination for famous and wealthy people. All together made this place unique.

Ecco, ora forse avete capito perché la mia mente è letteralmente invasa da pensieri, preoccupazioni ma anche entusiasmo…
Perdonatemi, presto tornerò con il racconto degli ultimi eventi e torneremo a parlare dei nostri argomenti preferiti.
Oltre all’ambiente ci sono momenti in cui bisogna preservare il cuore delle persone! :)

RIFIUTILE, Rimini, Aprile/Marzo 2009

Marzo sembra essere non solo il mese del risveglio della natura, ma anche quello del risveglio delle iniziative attente alla sua salvaguardia!
March seems to be not only the nature awakening month, but also the month in which there are lots of happenings about environment saving!

Oggi, presso la Sede Provinciale di Rimini, in piazzale Bornaccini, 1, si inaugura Rifiutile, “Laboratorio per donne con recupero materiali”.
Si tratta di un’intelligente rassegna di incontri per “Creare divertendosi, utilizzando oggetti che diversamente sarebbero spazzatura!”.
Today, at the Province Centre of Rimini, in Bornaccini Square n.1, there will be the inauguration of Rifiutile, “Women laboratory of art from waste recovery”.
It’s a smart occurrence of meetings for “Enjoying creativity, using objects that differently would be trash!”.

Sono 9 incontri che si terranno il lunedì, il mercoledì e il venerdì nella seconda e quarta settimana di marzo e nella terza di aprile, nell’orario dalle 14,30 alle 17,30. In particolare:

• il 9, 11 e 13 marzo si terrà un laboratorio di scultura, giochi per bambini e idee libere;
• il 23, 25 e 27 marzo si lavorerà alla creazione di arredamento, lampade, soprammobili, mensole, sedie, specchi e posacenere;
• il 20, 22 e 24 aprile si creeranno costumi, abiti, gioielli e accessori.

There will be 9 dates that occur on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the second and fourth weeks of March and in the third one of April. In particular:

• On 9, 11 and 13 March there will be a laboratory for sculpture, kid’s toys and free ideas;
• On 29, 25 and 27 March the focus is on creation of furniture, lamps, ornaments, consoles, chairs, mirrors and ashtrays;
• On 20, 22 and 24 April, you’ll can create costumes, clothes, jewellery and accessories.

La rassegna è organizzata dalla Mutoid Waste Company, un “gruppo di riciclatori capaci di riutilizzare i rifiuti urbani trasformandoli da rottami in opere d’arte”. I materiali utilizzati, sono i più vari: ferro, plastica, gomma, fibra di vetro, alluminio, rame ed ottone. “Un costante flusso di mutazione accompagna non solo l’ideazione ma la raccolta stessa dei materiali, la tecnica di lavorazione e l’attuazione fino alla rifinitura degli oggetti”.
The event is organized by Mutoid Waste Company : “a group of recyclers able to reuse urban trash turning them from scraps to art”. Lots of material can be used: iron, plastic, rubber, glass fibre, aluminium, copper and brass. “A continue flow of mutation is the complement of the ideation and recovering of material itself, as long as the realization and the finishing of objects”.

Avete questi pomeriggi a disposizione? Allora che aspettate! Via libera alla creatività! E non preoccupatevi se siete a corto di materiale! Potrete portare il vostro materiale (se siete un po’ WALL•E come me) o vi sarà tranquillamente fornito dagli organizzatori che si assicureranno di saper far utilizzare bene gli attrezzi e insegneranno le semplici tecniche di unione dei diversi materiali!

You can bring yours (if you are such a WALL•E like me) or thing will be furnished from the organization. They will assure that you could well use tools and will teach simple fusion techniques for every material.
