Questa sera dalle 18.00 ricordo a tutti che in tutta Italia si festeggia la Festa del Risparmio Energetico M'illumino Di Meno, promossa dalla trasmissione radiofonica Caterpillar, appuntamento che ormai non ha più bisogno di presentazioni. Ognuno, chi ancora in ufficio, chi in casa, proverà a fare a meno non solo di luce elettrica, ma di tutte quelle cose che concorrono al quotidiano spreco di energia.

Anche io sarò direttamente impegnata nella mia città con le associazioni Mani Tese e Pacha Mama per questo evento, poi se avrò modo vi racconterò...

Everyone, who still in office, who in the house, is tring to do without not only electricity, but all the things that contribute to the daily waste of energy.

Domani e dopodomani (16 e 17 febbraio) a Cesena Fiera (Pievesestina di Cesena) c'è Vint&Glam - Vintage and Glamour Lifestyle, grande mercato di cose vecchie ed antiche con 350 espositori: "... vintage, remake ed autoproduzioni con abbigliamento, accessori, oggettistica e design, in una sorta di museo del costume tra alta moda, pezzi sartoriali e proposte più abbordabili all'insegna dello stile".
Non so che ne pensate voi ma io non vorrei perdermelo...

Tomorrow and the day after (16 and 17 February) in Cesena Fiera (Pievesestina in Cesena) there is Vint&Glam - Vintage Glamour and Lifestyle, a large market of old and ancient things with 350 exhibitors: "... vintage, remaking and self-producing with fashion, accessories, objects and design, in a sort of museum of costume between high fashion, couture pieces and the most affordable offers according to style."
I do not know how about you, but I would not want to miss it...

A caccia di eco-regali / Searching for green gifts

Regali: il peggior incubo del Natale se vissuto quando sono fatti di fretta. Non ditemi che non vi è mai successo! A me capita praticamente tutti gli anni. Eppure fare i regali di Natale è una delle cose che mi piace fin da bambina, quando mi raccoglievo i miei risparmi per fare i regali a tutti in famiglia, soprattutto alla mia piccola sorellina.
Gifts: the worst nightmare of Christmas if you lived when they are done in a hurry. Do not tell me that it’s never happened to you! It’s almost every year to me. Yet making Christmas gifts is one of the things that I ever liked as a child, when I gathered my savings to make gifts to everyone in the family, especially my little sister. 

Quest’anno non sono forse nemmeno a metà dell’opera. Eppure voglia di spendere soldi ce n’è ben poca. Ho strabuzzato spesso gli occhi nelle mie indagini sul web non tanto sui vari gadget ipertecnologici, quanto più sui blog creativi che propongono eco-regali di tutti i tipi: oggetti fatti con materiali riciclati, abbigliamento ricavato da scarti tessili, cosmetici fatti in casa e barattoli pieni non solo di conserve casalinghe, ma anche di miscele per preparare infusi e condimenti.
Tutte bellissime cose, spesso affiancate ad iniziative di laboratori fai-da-te, come quello della cara Lo.
Peccato però essere così lontana da queste meravigliose persone che non solo trasmettono la loro passione e creatività agli altri ma rendono le cose più semplici, in questo periodo. E peccato non averci pensato prima, avrei potuto benissimo ordinare i regali sul web! :(
This year, maybe it’s not even half done. Still I want to spend so little money. I rubbed my eyes often in my researchs on the web not so much for hi-tech gadgets, but on creative blogs offering all kinds of eco-gifts: items made from recycled materials, clothing made from textiles waste, homemade cosmetics and jars filled not only with homemade jams, but also with mixtures for infusions and condiments.
All beautiful things, often flanked by DIY workshop, like the one of the dear Lo.
Too bad to be so far away from these wonderful people who not only give their passion and creativity to others but make things easier, especially this time. And what a pity not having thought before, I could have ordered gifts on the web! :( 

C’è poi qualcuno, qui vicino a me che ha queste fantastiche doti creative ma ha ben pensato di utilizzarle per fare regali da porgere ai propri amici. Parlo di Cristella, amica e blogger ormai da anni, che ha delle manine magiche e con tanta passione e pazienza ha realizzato all’uncinetto dei magnifici accessori (portacellulari, collane e bracciali) con un filo ricavato dalle calze di nylon riciclate. Guardate il suo post! Che bello essere stata fra le persone che hanno ricevuto questo prezioso regalo! Grazie di cuore Cri! Quest’anno sei stata più riciclosa di me! :)
Then there is someone next to me who has this fantastic creative talent but she well thougth to use it for making gifts to give to her friends. I’m talking about Cristella, friend and blogger for years, that has magic hands and with a lot of passion and patience made magnificent crochet accessories (holsters, necklaces and bracelets) with a wire made from recycled nylon stockings. Look at her post! Nice to be among people who received this precious gift! Thank you very much Cri! This year you were more green than me! :)

E per contraccambiare e fare dei piccoli pensieri anche agli altri amici volontari, col mio dolce personale Babbo Natale, siamo riusciti a fare degli squisiti biscotti speziati da appendere all’albero. Li vedrete presto su questi schermi!
And to thank her and make small gift to other volunteer friends, by the help of sweet personal Santa, I was able to give some delicious cookies to hang on the Christmas tree. See them soon on these screens!

Ma per tutti gli altri? Cosa mi è rimasto da fare? Quel poco di tempo che ho avuto finora sono andata alla ricerca di mercatini, ma nei giorni o negli orari sbagliati; ho girato con delle idee in testa senza trovare nulla o trovando cose adatte a persone che, invece, non vedrò per il Natale; oppure non ho colto al volo poche ghiotte occasioni…
But for everyone else? What to do? For the little time I had, I went in search of genuine Christmas markets, but I miss the right days and time. Then I went around with ideas in my head and found nothing but things for people who, however, I will not see for Christmas. I have also missed a few greedy occasions... 

Come quella, forse l’unica in Rimini, di “Matrioska”. Più che un mercatino vero e proprio sono state tre giornate (primo weekend di dicembre) in cui tutti i creativi della zona si sono dati appuntamento per esporre le loro fantastiche creazioni. Abbagliata dall’ambientazione ricreata fra un teatro e un vecchio chiostro e confusa dalle mille idee, sono riuscita ad acquistare solo per me, un oggetto che mi serviva assolutamente e di cui avevo scartato l’ipotesi fai-da-te, non essendone capace: una eco-custodia per il mio tablet. Eccola qui. Non è bellissima? Opera di The Park.
Like that – perhaps the only one in Rimini – “Matrioska”. It was more than a real market, three days (the first weekend of December) when all the creatives in the area have come together to show their fantastic creations. Dazzled by the location recreated in a theater and an old cloister and confused by hundreds of ideas, I was able to buy just for me an object that I needed, having absolutely rejected the hypothesis to do it myself, whilst not being able to: an eco-case for my tablet. … in piena primavera (anche con questo tempo pazzo)! Ma prima di aggiornarvi, vi metto al corrente di quel che è successo in questi giorni.
... in the middle of spring – even with this crazy weather –! But before updating, I want to let you know what happened during those days. 

Vi avevo lasciati con la storia di Chicco, che incredibilmente ha avuto un suo seguito: due giorni dopo il salvataggio del piccolo di gazza, ci siamo ritrovati a salvare anche il secondo piccolo della coppia, che ormai credo sia andata via, non avendo potuto far nulla per accudire i due pulcini del loro nido. Difatti, il secondo (Spillo), si è salvato per mano mia, prima dal pericolo della strada, dove era caduto e poi dalle grinfie di ben due gatti, stavolta! Per il salvataggio (non semplice, essendo il secondo più vivace, lo vedete dalla foto che non son riuscita a scattare) abbiamo operato con le stesse modalità, portando il secondo piccolo al Centro di Recupero Animali Selvatici, gestito dall’associazione onlus MARICLA.
Ho approfittato così di sapere come sta Chicco, il quale non era lì perché portato via per i controlli. Poverino, ha una malattia della pelle. Forse per il troppo prurito i due piccoli si sono mossi troppo nel nido e sono caduti. Speriamo che grazie alle cure dei volontari possano tornare a fare i loro primi tentativi di volo!
Intanto cercherò di sostenerli e continuerò ad informarmi sulla loro salute.
I left you with Chicco's story, which incredibly had a following. Two days after the rescue of the little magpie, we ended up saving the second smallest of the pair, which I think is now gone, having been unable to caring for the two chicks in their nest. In fact, the second (Spillo), was saved by my hand from the danger of the road, where he fell, and then from the clutches of two cats, this time! To rescue him – not easy, being the second most lively as you can see from the photos which was not able to shoot – we operated the same way, taking the second smallest to the Wildlife Recovery Centre, run by the non-profit organization MARICLA.
I took advantage of it to know how Chicco was. He was not there because they took away him for controls. Poor chick, he has a skin disease. Perhaps too itchy for the two little magpies, which fell for it from the nest. We hope that through the efforts of volunteers they can return to make their first attempts at flying!
Meanwhile I will continue to support and inform about their health.
Tra le tante cose di questo periodo movimentato mi sono persa la consueta edizione annuale di “Ecomia”, durante la quale ci sono state varie iniziative alle quali ha partecipato anche Mani Tese con la vendita di abbigliamento, oggetti e accessori second-hand.
Among the many things of this eventful period, I lost the usual annual edition of “Ecomia”, during which there were various initiatives to which Mani Tese attended with the sale of second-hand clothing items and accessories. 

Mi sono, poi, persa la “Notte Verde” di Forlì (potete leggerne qui). Un evento a cui non dovevo mancare, come creativa col pallino della eco-sostenibilità! Ci di voi ci è stato? Raccontatemi nei commenti!
I then lost the “Green Night” of Forlì (you can read here). An event that I should not be missed, as creative hooked with eco-sustainability! Did you join it there? Tell me in your comments! 
Questa domenica, poi, era dedicata agli appassionati della bicicletta e dell’aria pulita. Anche qua tante iniziative organizzate dalla UISP di Rimini e dalla gran parte delle associazioni amanti della bici e dello sport. Peccato che il tempo non sia proprio adatto… chissà com’è andata!
Then this Sunday was dedicated to fans of cycling and clean air. Here, too many initiatives organized by UISP of Rimini and the other many bike and sport associations. Unfortunately the weather is too bad today ... I wonder how it went!

 

Non so quante cose mi sono persa ancora, ma non mi perdo d’animo, il bello deve ancora arrivare!
I do not know how many things I also missed, but I do not lose heart, the best is yet to come!

Il prossimo weekend è da trascorrere assolutamente tutti a Ravenna, dove si terrà la prima edizione di “Coltiviamo un’Altra Economia”, festa del commercio equo e dell’economia solidale!
Questa non potrò assolutamente perdermela, perché dal venerdì sera alla domenica sarà un susseguirsi di spettacoli, seminari, concerti, laboratori, incontri, passeggiate, cene, sfilate, tutto condito con giochi, aste, sfilate e… baratto! Scaricate il programma!
Be’ forse non vi ricordate bene la Fiera del Baratto a cui ero stata qualche tempo fa, andatelo a rileggere per capire l’entusiasmo con cui sono tornata quella volta da Ravenna. Ebbene sì, il “Villaggio Globale” di Ravenna è sempre il promotore di questi fantastici eventi, forte di un’unità di menti creative e piene di positività. Quest’anno ci voglio tornare e voglio conoscerle meglio per lasciarmi contagiare da questa bellissima ondata di cambiamento!

Well, perhaps you don’t remember well the Swop Fair where I was some time ago, go and read it again to understand the enthusiasm with which I came that time from Ravenna. Yes, the “Global Village” in Ravenna is always the promoter of these great events, creative and full of positivity great minds united. This year I want to go back there to know more about them to let me be influenced by this great wave of change!

Questo blog è ancora attivo. Ho ancora tante cose da dirvi! Per cui se avete pazienza, ogni tanto ci sarò. Vi consiglio di iscrivervi al mio feed, in modo da restare aggiornati ogni qual volta avrò la possibilità di raccontarvi qualcosa di nuovo.

This blog is still active. I still have many things to tell you! So if you have patience, sometimes I’ll be there. I recommend you to subscribe to my feed, in order to stay updated whenever I get the chance to tell you something new.

Detto questo, vi racconto in breve ciò che mi sta succedendo per darvene un’idea, senza avere la pretesa di giustificare la mia ultima lunga assenza. 

That said, I will tell you briefly something about me to give you an idea, without pretending to justify my last long absence.

Sono arrivata nuovamente ad un “binario morto” per quanto riguarda il lavoro.

Si chiude un altro capitolo e si ricomincia con la trafila dell’invio curricula e aggiornamento di tutto ciò che mi servirà per cominciare nuove esperienze. Intendo anche rimettermi a studiare sulle nuove tecnologie utili al mio lavoro. Bisogna sempre essere aggiornati per essere competitivi nel mio settore! Quindi niente pause!

E anche se il vento soffia contro e tutti dicono che il lavoro non c’è, io continuo ad avere fiducia in me stessa, ad essere lungimirante e positiva. Non ho nulla da perdere!

Potrei anche studiare un piano B per la sopravvivenza. Starete a vedere. Io intanto non mi perdo d’animo!

I came back to a "dead end" for the job.

It closes another chapter and I must start sending curricula and making the update of all that I will need to begin new experiences. I also intend to get back to learn about new technologies useful for working. You should always be updated to be competitive in my job! So, no breaks!

And even if the wind blows against and all say that jobs are lacking, I continue to trust in myself, to be forward looking and positive. I have nothing to lose!

I might even consider a plan B for survival. You'll be seeing. Meanwhile, I did not lose heart!

Il mese scorso è volato via in fretta. Per almeno tre giorni alla settimana sono stata impegnata con le due solite attività di volontariato di sempre più una nuova.

Quindi la mia agenda virtuale (sul mio vecchio e fidato cellulare che inizia a perdere colpi) si è infittita di appuntamenti!

Riunioni su riunioni, sia per discutere delle cose ordinarie che degli eventi in calendario. 

The last month has flown by quickly. For at least three days a week I’ve been busy with the usual two volunteer tasks and one more new.

So my virtual agenda (on my old trusty phone that begins to falter) is full of appointments!

Meetings by meetings, to discuss the things that ordinary events as much as scheduled ones.

Così per Mani Tese abbiamo messo su il consueto “Ipermercatino dell'Usato” in piazza con la svendita di abbigliamento e accessori provenienti dal mercatino solidale. Un appuntamento di cui normalmente siamo sempre state entusiaste ma non questa volta. In una piazza frequentatissima di gente, di sabato mattina, abbiamo solo potuto contare sulla punta delle dita le persone interessate al banchetto. Un chiaro indice di crisi, ma anche di contraddizione e controtendenza rispetto al resto del mondo!

So for Mani Tese we put on the usual “Iper-Charity Second-Hand bench” in the square with the sale of clothing and accessories from the charity shop. An event which normally we have always been enthusiastic, but not this time. In a square crowded with people on a Saturday morning, we could only count on our fingers the people concerned at the bench. A clear sign of crisis, but also of contradiction and contrast with the rest of the world!

Altro tempo è stato dedicato alla preparazione degli eventi dell’associazione Ippocampo Viserba, come l’incontro con gli anziani del posto in un loro centro sociale e la prima uscita in piazza per i falò dedicati a San Giuseppe. Anche per il primo di questi incontri c’è stata un po’ di delusione vedendo gli anziani preferire di continuare le loro partite a carte piuttosto che riscoprire insieme a noi una cittadina piena di storie e curiosità. Ma che succede al mondo?

Poi fortunatamente l’evento successivo ci ha risollevato: al banchetto per la festa tradizionale della Focheraccia tanti sono stati i visitatori e i consensi per l'opera di recupero della memoria che stiamo facendo. 

More time was devoted to the preparation of the events of the association of  Ippocampo Viserba, such as meeting with the local elders in a social center and as the first exit into the main square for the bonfires dedicated to St. Joseph. Also for the first of these meetings there was a bit of disappointment seeing the elderly prefer to continue their card games rather than discover with us a place full of stories and curiosities. But what happens in the world?

Then the next event fortunately raised us: the banquet for the traditional feast of Focheraccia called  many visitors acclaiming for the work of memory recovering we are doing.

Come terzo impegno della settimana, o meglio quello di mezzo, io e il mio compagno abbiamo continuato a frequentare il corso sui rifiuti organizzato dall’Università Aperta di Rimini. Ve ne avevo già accennato all’inizio ma vorrei parlarvene in un post a parte, perché merita. Ho imparato moltissime cose, grazie alla bravissima docente, e abbiamo chiarito tante perplessità, cosa che accade quasi sempre quando si parla di rifiuti.

As a third commitment of the week, or rather the middle, my partner and I continued to attend the class about waste treatment, organized by the Open University of Rimini. I mentioned it at the beginning but I would tell you about it in a separate post, because it deserves. I learned so many things, thanks to very good teacher, and we have clarified many doubts, which happens almost always when it comes to waste.

Fra le tante cose, è uscito anche un trafiletto che parla del mio blog su questa rivista. Un articolo che parla del mondo di noi blogger in quel del riminese. Per fortuna non c’è il mio brutto faccione, ma sono stata molto contenta di essere stata ospitata da Rimini InMagazine ancora una volta! Spero di non aver deluso con la mia assenza i miei nuovi lettori approdati qui da quelle pagine.

Among the many things, a short article that talks about my blog in this magazine was edited. It is an article that talks about the world of us bloggers in the area of Rimini. Luckily there was not my ugly big face, but I was very pleased to be hosted by Rimini InMagazine again! I hope I have not disappointed with my absence my new readers arrived here from those pages.

Dunque, dunque… riprendendo il precedente post, comincerei a raccontarvi brevemente cosa è successo prima di Natale, tra un’ora e un’altra dedicata all’impacchettamento dei regali per Mani Tese alla Feltrinelli, operazione fra l’altro andata per il meglio sia per la raccolta fondi, che per la meravigliosa collaborazione e amicizia stretta con numerosi volontari, straordinari in tutti i sensi, ragione per cui vi consiglio vivamente, per il prossimo dicembre, di unirvi a tale iniziativa nel comune con sede Feltrinelli a voi più vicino!

So, returning to the previous post ... I would begin to tell you briefly what happened before Christmas, in an hour and another dedicated to the making of gifts for Mani Tese at Feltrinelli bookshop. Among other things it went for the best both for fundraising, and for for the wonderful collaboration and close friendship with many volunteers, that were extraordinary in every sense.  Which is why I highly recommend, for next December, to join this initiative in the cities with a Feltrinelli bookshop near you!

Con la stessa Mani Tese, come di consueto ogni Natale, abbiamo partecipato ad “Equamente”, contenitore di eventi che si ripete qui a Rimini due volte l’anno, dove, unite ad un mercatino equo-solidale, tante associazioni di volontariato sono invitate coi loro banchetti per svariate finalità umanitarie e sociali. Il nostro è stato dedicato, per la prima volta, alla raccolta fondi per un nuovo progetto scelto dal nostro gruppo, la campagna “Intrattabili” per l’informazione e il recupero tra i bambini colpiti dal trafficking in Cambogia. Eravamo lì con l’artigianato proveniente dalla stessa Cambogia e con dei bellissimi cesti realizzati dalla brava Sabrina, con oggetti provenienti dal nostro mercatino dell’usato. Purtroppo devo dire che la crisi si sente anche molto nel volontariato… pochissime vendite, ma fortunatamente tanto interesse.

Every Christmas as usual, with the same Mani Tese, we attended “Equamente”, the container of events which is repeated twice a year in Rimini. Here, together with a fair-trade market, many voluntary associations are invited with their banquets for various humanitarian and social purposes. Ours has been dedicated, for the first time, to raise funds for a new project chosen by our group, the “Intractables” campaign for the information and the recovery of children affected by trafficking in Cambodia. We were there with crafts coming from Cambodia and with beautiful baskets made by good Sabrina, made with objects from our second-hand shop. Unfortunately I have to say that the crisis is felt also in fund-raising ... very few sales, but fortunately a lot of interest.

Quello che, invece, mi aspettavo, data la gratuità e la particolarità dell’iniziativa, era più partecipazione ad un divertente laboratorio di eco-fashion, organizzato dalle ragazze di ReeDo. ReeDo è un laboratorio fondato nell’ambito della facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia, Corso di Laurea magistrale in Moda, dell’Università di Bologna, polo di Rimini, che si propone di realizzare capi di abbigliamento e accessori, utilizzando gli scarti di stoffe, ritagli di vestiti o anche borse e scarpe inutilizzate. Queste ragazze simpaticissime e dalla grande vena creativa, con cui ho poi avuto modo di chiacchierare durante e dopo il laboratorio, sono capaci di creare dei fantastici capi con qualsiasi cosa: jeans, camicie, maniche di maglie, bottoni… le loro creazioni sono completamente nuove e originali!

What, however, I was expecting, given the gratuity and the uniqueness of the initiative, was the participation in a fun workshop of eco-fashion, organized by the ReeDo girls. ReeDo is a laboratory based in the Faculty of Humanities, Undergraduate Degree in Fashion, University of Bologna, Rimini Campus, which aims to create garments and accessories, using scraps of fabrics, trimmings unused clothes or shoes, bags. Then I had the opportunity to chat during and after the workshop with these girls which are likeable and have a great creativity, being able to create fantastic garments with anything: jeans, shirts, sleeve shirts, buttons ... their designs are completely fresh and original!

Peccato non poter documentare con foto di ciò che sono in grado di creare, ma posso mostrarvi la bizzarra collana venuta fuori tagliando striscioline di maglie colorate… l’ho realizzata io stessa seguendo le loro indicazioni e la mia (scarsa) fantasia! :)

Il bello dei loro laboratori è che loro sono capaci di stimolare la tua stessa inventiva, rendendoti completamente partecipe dell’atto creativo!

Too bad not being able to document with pictures of what they are able to create, but I can show the bizarre necklace came out cutting strips of colored shirts ... I made it myself by following their directions and my (lack of) imagination! :)

The beauty of their labs is that they are able to stimulate your own imagination, making you fully participate in the creative act!

Insomma, sono rimasta molto colpita dalla loro fantasia e soprattutto dall’entusiasmo che ci mettono, sia pur davanti a poche persone interessate. Un peccato che molti si siano persi quel laboratorio per andare, invece, in giro a fare inutili sperperi di denaro…

Io sono molto felice di aver conosciuto ReeDo, e spero di poter incontrare loro nuovamente, magari collaborando presto con loro a qualche nuova iniziativa!

In short, I was very impressed by their creativity and above all the enthusiasm that they bring, even in front of a few people interested. A pity that many have lost that lab for going, instead, around doing useless waste of money ...

I am very happy to have known ReeDo, and I hope to meet them again, perhaps soon collaborating with them for new initiatives!

"V" come volontariato / "V" as Volunteer

Dunque, dove eravamo rimasti?
Scusate, mi sono un po’ persa per strada… e la colonna laterale dell’archivio del mio blog piange, segnalando tristemente soli due post per questo mese! Accidenti!
Soprattutto chi di voi si sarà affacciato su questo blog dopo la mia comparsa in TV, sarà forse un po’ deluso. Ebbene, ci tengo a precisare che non sono una blogger di quelle che scrivono quasi tutti i giorni. Semplicemente non gliela fo.
Per i miei post prendo spunto dalle mie esperienze personali di tutti i giorni, è ovvio che, se ultimamente sono sempre presa dal lavoro o in altre faccende affaccendata durante il tempo libero, non riesco anche ad aggiornare al blog.
Ma non voglio scoraggiarvi e per mettervi al corrente di quanto sto facendo, vi scrivo qui questo post-minestrone sul… volontariato!

Sorry, I was a bit lost… and the blog archive in the sidebar cries, showing only two post for this month! Blimey!
Especially who popped over here, after I was appeared on TV, could be a bit disappointed. Well, I want to specify that I’m not that kind of blogger who writes almost every day. Simply I’m not able.
For my blog posts I take inspirations from my daily personal experiences. It is clear that if I am too much busy for work or during time off, I can’t update the blog.
But I don’t want to discourage you and in order to let you know what I am doing, I’ll write here this “minestrone”-blog post about… volunteering!

Lavoro a parte, questo periodo è caratterizzato da numerosi impegni a livello di volontariato.
Sapete già quasi tutti che oramai sono parte integrante del gruppo di volontari di Mani Tese della mia città, del quale curo anche il blog locale. Vi ricordate il precedente post che parlava di un fantastico evento tenutosi a settembre dello scorso anno?
Bene, stiamo organizzando un nuovissimo “Alternative in Strada” che questa volta si terrà a Santarcangelo di Romagna il 6 giugno imminente.
Except working, lately I am too much busy with volunteering.
Almost all of you know that I am part of the local Mani Tese group, which blog I care the update too. Did you remember an old post about a fantastic event in September 2009?
Well, we are organizing a new “Alternative in strada”. It will take place in Santarcangelo of Romagna on the next 6th June.

Per questo non sono solamente implicata nell’organizzazione generale della manifestazione, ma assieme ad altre volontarie mi occuperò della parte dei laboratori di autoproduzione.
In particolare sarò presente con un laboratorio sul compostaggio domestico, in cui racconterò dal vivo la mia esperienza personale in materia. Se volete venire a trovarmi fate pure, io sarò felice di ricevervi e raccontarvi di persona la mia avventura.
Anche gli altri laboratori sono molto interessanti: ci sarà quello sui detersivi fai-da-te, quello sui pannolini lavabili, quello sul pane fatto in casa ed anche un laboratorio/gioco fai-da-te per i più giovani.
For this reason I am not only involved in the general organization of the event, but with some others volunteers I will take part in self-making laboratories.
In particular I’ll manage a lab about home-composting, where I’ll show my personal composting experience. If you want to come to visit me, it would be very nice and I will be very happy to meet you and tell you on my adventure.
Even the other labs are very interesting: there will be a self-making labs on detergents, a lab on washable diapers, a lab on homemade bread and a play-lab for kids.

All’interno della manifestazione ci saranno anche numerosi artisti del riciclo, le associazioni locali che operano nel campo della cooperazione e della solidarietà, la ormai nota “boicottega” con annessa mostra, il mercatino dell’usato solidale e infine musica dal vivo!
Quindi fossi in voi, se siete dalle nostre parti, non mi perderei quest’occasione utile anche per visitare la bellissima città di Santarcangelo e la fiera mensile dell’antiquariato!
There will be also numerous recycling artists, local associations for world co-operation and aid, the famous “boycotting shop” with its show, the second-hand market and also live music!
So if I was in your shoes and was around here, I wouldn’t miss this occasion useful to visit also the beautiful town of Santarcangelo and the antiquities fair!

Oltre a questo grande evento, sono molto presa dalle attività con un’altra associazione, L’Ippocampo, nata pochi mesi fa nella mia zona, Viserba, che si prefigge di recuperare la memoria attraverso il racconto delle persone che vi abitano o che sono state qui da turisti, e attraverso la raccolta di materiale di qualsiasi tipo (foto, video, letteratura) che ne documentino la storia.
Questo perché la riviera adriatica è un posto prevalentemente turistico e il susseguirsi delle stagioni, il via vai dei villeggianti, ma soprattutto la forte urbanizzazione hanno spesso snaturato i luoghi e le tradizioni locali. Altre volte però anche le stesse persone di passaggio hanno arricchito di colore la scenografia locale, regalando curiosi aneddoti che è veramente uno spasso scoprire.
This great event apart, I am very involved in the activities with another association, L’Ippocampo, born some months ago in my area, Viserba. It aims to recover the memory through the stories of inhabitants or tourists and through the collection of various kinds of material about the heritage (photos, videos and literature) documenting history.
This idea occurred because the Adriatic Riviera is a typical tourism place and the succession of seasons, the coming and going of tourists, but especially the strong urbanization have often distorted the look of places and the traditions. Even if sometimes visitors gave new colours to the scenery, giving curious anecdotes which is a real pleasure to discover.

Pur non essendo originaria della zona, mi sono appassionata alla storia del posto, ma soprattutto alle persone che conservano dentro i loro ricordi ed esperienze dei tesori immensi. È una meravigliosa sensazione stare ad ascoltare queste persone, soprattutto le più anziane e immaginare cosa hanno visto i loro occhi, che si illuminano e diventano lucidi a rievocare alcuni episodi.
Io nel mio piccolo cerco di tradurre tutto ciò in segni, apportando il mio contributo volontario professionale. Ogni ricordo e spunto viene poi riportato in un sito e poi in un blog, dove c’è davvero da scoprire tante curiosità.
Per chi è stato da queste parti a godere del mare, anche solo per un giorno della stagione estiva, sarà una piacevole sorpresa conoscere tante cose particolari che nascono proprio qui, nella zona a nord di Rimini, un tempo patria di contadini e pescatori, ma anche un luogo illustre, meta di personaggi noti e facoltosi. Tutti indifferentemente hanno contribuito a rendere unico questo posto.
Even if I’m not native of this place, I became passionate about the local heritage, especially about the people who keep huge treasures inside their memories and experiences.
In my own small way, I try to translate all this in graphics, giving my professional aid as volunteer.
Then every memory or cue is registered in a website and also in a blog, where you can find more and more to discover.
Who knows this place for the seaside, even only for a summer day, will be well surprised in knowing so many particular things typical of this area, in the North of Rimini, once the country of fishermen and farmers, but also a illustrious place, destination for famous and wealthy people. All together made this place unique.

Ecco, ora forse avete capito perché la mia mente è letteralmente invasa da pensieri, preoccupazioni ma anche entusiasmo…
Perdonatemi, presto tornerò con il racconto degli ultimi eventi e torneremo a parlare dei nostri argomenti preferiti.
Oltre all’ambiente ci sono momenti in cui bisogna preservare il cuore delle persone! :)

On the way to Christmas!

Eccomi, sono tornata. Scusate, non sono partita per le Maldive anticipando le vacanze natalizie, ma ho avuto solo il bisogno di starmene un po’ tranquilla, lontana dallo schermo del computer, per riappropriarmi del tempo.
Here I am, I’m returned. Sorry, I didn’t leave for the Maldives, anticipating Christmas holidays, but I needed to stay a little quite, far from the computer screen, to own more time.

Queste giornate sono trascorse all’insegna del clima natalizio, cosa che magari qualcuno di voi odia. Io ho sempre adorato la stagione delle feste. Quando ero piccola questo periodo per me rappresentava una gioia: il coro in chiesa, il preparare gli addobbi e il presepe, i lavoretti a scuola e a casa, i risparmi messi da parte per fare i regali e vedere il sorriso nei volti dei cari che li ricevevano.
These days passed in a Christmas atmosphere, a thing that someone of you hate. I ever had adored this season. When I was a child this time was joyful for me: the church chorus, the making of decorations and nativity scene, the handcrafts at school and home, money saved to make gifts and to see smiles on the relative’s faces, when they received.

Lo ammetto. Con gli anni la magia del Natale un po’ si è persa. Fare i regali è diventato sempre più una preoccupazione che un piacere. Io, però, cerco di portare dentro sempre il ricordo piacevole delle feste e protrarre a lungo i suoi effetti benefici. Ogni anno mi invento qualcosa di diverso per vivere con spirito allegro il momento.
I must admit. With the time going away the magic of Christmas is lost. To buy gifts is more a worry than a pleasure. But I try to take with myself the pleasant memories of festivity, trying also to extend the benefits. Every year I invent something new to live the moment with more happiness.

Così io e Irish ci siamo ritagliati – un po’ forzatamente, devo dire, visti gli impegni del periodo – un breve weekend nel Trentino, tornando dove eravamo stati un anno e mezzo fa d’estate. L’idea era quella di visitare il mercatino natalizio di Trento e poi di associare una passeggiata nei dintorni, arrivando in Val di Non. Tutto il viaggio in treno ovviamente! Per fortuna il giorno prima ha nevicato un bel po’, quanto basta perché la neve formasse un mantello non troppo spesso che ha reso il paesaggio incantato. Che meraviglia!
So Irish and me found a bit of time – we forced to do it, because we are very busy – to have a weekend in Trentino, going back where we went a year and half ago in summer. The idea was that to go visiting the Christmas market of Trento and then adding a walk in the near lands, arriving to Val di Non. Travelling by train, of course! We were lucky to find snow, fallen the day before. It was only enough to make a light enchanting veil on the land. What a marvellous sight!


Abbiamo rivisto Daniela che ci ha accolto un affetto davvero familiare. Ci ha fatto visitare la sua futura CasaClima che è quasi terminata – un perfetto nido costruito in maniera intelligente – e ci ha fatto gustare tante delizie fatte con le sue mani. Val la pena citare il suo favoloso strudel di mele!
We met Daniela again and she welcomed us in a very worm way. She brought us to see the new KlimaHouse – a perfect nest built in a very smart way – and she offered us a lot of handmade sweets. It’s worth to quote her fabulous apple strudel!


Ci siamo gustati il paesaggio dei campi di mele spogli ma imbiancati e poi abbiamo fatto un giro nella cittadina vicina di Cles, dove l’atmosfera natalizia non muta affatto la tranquillità sovrana. Siamo stati sorpresi dalle novità ecologiche come il distributore del latte in una piazza al centro. Poi immancabile una bella cioccolata calda ristoratrice e una foto romantica…
We loved the sight of the white lands where apple grow, even with bare trees, and we had a trip to the near town of Cles, where the Christmas didn’t change the quite atmosphere. We were surprised by the presence of a milk on tap self-distributor machine in the centre of the town. Then we couldn’t resist to a hot chocolate and a romantic shot…


A Trento l’atmosfera era decisamente più movimenta con molta gente, forse anche un po’ stressata dal viaggio in macchina! Gente che ci guardava male, vedendoci trascinare dietro il trolley – nella stazione purtroppo non c’è il servizio deposito bagagli – , un piccolo peso compensato però dalla tranquillità di fare un viaggio dove abbiamo letto, chiacchierato, sonnecchiato, mangiato, ascoltato musica e… fatto amicizia!
In Trento the atmosphere was definitely more busy, with a lot of people packed and maybe stressed for travelling by car! They looked at us badly, seeing that we took the luggage along – in the train station a luggage deposit is missing – a little weigh, balanced from the tranquillity to travel and do other pleasant things: reading, chatting, yawning, eating, listening to music and… meeting friends too!

Se qualcuno di voi volesse recarsi da quelle parti, consiglio vivamente di fare il viaggio in treno. Si evitano code in macchina, stress, ricerca del parcheggio, orari sovraffollati. Poi, il trenino che da Trento va in Val di Non, spingendosi fino alla Val di Sole, a Marilleva, è gratis se si va a sciare!
Peccato che io e Irish siamo giusto in grado di sci…volare con i sacchi della spazzatura! :D
If someone wants to go there, I suggest train heartily. You will avoid tailbacks, stress, to look for parking, or to be packed during some hours. Then the little train that from Trento goes in Val di Non, arrives to Marilleva, Val di Sole, a famous ski station, and the travel is free for skiers!

It's a pity that Irish and me are able not to ski but only slide on trash sacks! LOL
Il mercatino natalizio di Trento è ricco di belle cose di artigianato locale – anche se non mancano oggetti di importazione – ma nei dintorni ci sarebbero molti altri mercatini da vedere, guardate qui. Trento, poi può essere una tappa di un viaggio che può arrivare anche in Alto Adige, per visitare i mercatini sudtirolesi. Il nostro amico Carmine ne sa qualcosa, vero? ;)
The Christmas market of Trento is rich of beautiful handcrafted things – even if there are imported gifts too – but in the neighbourhood there are lots of markets too, look here. Trento could be also the first step to go toward Alto Adige, to visit the South-Tyrolean markets. Our friend Carmine knows it well, isn’t it? ;)

Alla fine siamo rientrati a casa con un po’ di sacchetti – fortunatamente tutti in carta tranne uno – più le nostre sportine di tela con alcuni piccoli ricordi di questo breve ma intenso viaggio.
E l’atmosfera natalizia continua… il nostro albero a LED è già allestito e un profumo di biscotti – fatti da Irish – con scaglie di cioccolato si è sparso per casa.
At the end we turn back home with lots of bags – paper bags except one – and other clothes bags with some little souvenirs of this short but intense weekend.
And Christmas atmosphere continues… our Christmas LED lighted tree is ready and a good scent of chocolate cookies is around home.

C’è anche una decorazione che ho realizzato interamente con materiali di recupero (lampadine fulminate a bulbo, salvate dalla discarica, e smalti per le unghie che da anni non uso più). Il suggerimento è arrivato da Vivere Verde, che ringrazio per le numerose idee. L’unico consiglio, se mai vi venisse la voglia di realizzarle, fatelo all’aperto o almeno lasciate la decorazione per diversi giorni ad asciugare fuori, per evitare di respirare l’odore intenso degli smalti. Altrimenti acquistate degli smalti ad acqua o appropriati per il vetro.
There’s a decoration I’ve made entrirely with reuse materials (bulb lamps, saved from landfill, and old unused nail polishes). The suggestion came from Vivere Verde with whom I am thankful to giving always lots of ideas. But if you want to prove to make this decoration be only careful to make the creation outside your home, or at least make it dry out there, to avoid breathing the smell of nail polish. Or you can buy water varnish or colours more appropriate for glass.

Ma c’è da fare ancora tanto!
Sabato 12 saremo impegnati in un evento speciale. Una ghiottissima occasione che Mani Tese offre al palazzo del Podestà di Rimini per acquistare qualche oggetto che ha ancora una vita e un possibile riuso, magari per fare qualche regalo a qualche persona sensibile a queste tematiche, o semplicemente per dare una mano alle popolazioni svantaggiate del Burkina Faso. Il mercatino proseguirà domenica 13 con una fantastica Asta Kitsch con tanto di banditore e divertimento assicurato! ;)
But there’s a lot to do more!
Saturday 12th we will be committed into a special event. A very good occasion that the organisation of Mani Tese offers at the Podestà’s palace in Rimini to buy some second-hand objects and give a second life, perhaps as gift for sensible people or to help the people of Burkina Faso. The market will be extended to Sunday 13th with a fantastic Kitsch Auction, with a real auctioneer and a lot of fun!

Insomma che periodo! E dobbiamo anche prepararci per tempo a come saper gestire i nostri rifiuti natalizi, con la speranza, quest’anno, di consumare meno e un po’ più intelligentemente!
Ma di questo ne parleremo nei prossimi post! Per ora vado cantando…
So, what a busy time! And we must prepare in time to front the amount of waste we will do on Christmas, hoping that, this year, we will make less waste and consume in a more smart way! But we will speak soon about these. For now I’m going singing…

EQUAMENTE ESTATE ’09 – Rimini, 5 e 6 Settembre ’09 - Ci sarò! / I'll be there!

Ragazzi ve lo dico subito: questo è l’evento più bello a conclusione dell’estate!
Consiglio di non mancare assolutamente!

Vi spiego:

Il 5 e 6 settembre ci vedremo tutti in piazza Cavour a Rimini.
Equamente Estate ’09 sarà un evento promosso dalle associazioni Mani Tese, Pacha Mama, Una goccia per il mondo, Maria Negretto e C.E.R.E.S., tutte insieme in festa per un consumo responsabile.

Sabato 5 settembre, alle ore 19.00, l’associazione Mani Tese di Rimini organizza un vero e proprio defilé, Beau Rivage, Beau Vintage, con abiti in passerella anni ’60 - ’70 - ’80 e a seguire vendita dei modelli per sostenere un progetto in Cambogia.

Il giorno dopo, domenica 6 dalle ore 15.00, la giornata si apre con Alternative in strada, passeggiata interattiva tra proposte di autoproduzione, acquisti solidali, consumi bio-sostenibili.

Saranno strutturate due strade che ci porteranno a conoscere un modo alternativo di comprare ed agire responsabile, dove si potranno trovare banchetti e punti informativi di associazioni ed enti del territorio.
Inoltre, al centro dei due percorsi, verrà allestita una piccola mostra, Boicottare: pratica di resistenza, a cura dell’associazione Mani Tese, dove verranno illustrati i boicottaggi delle più grandi multinazionali. A fine percorso sarà installata la Boicottega, una bottega nella quale i clienti possono fare la loro spesa virtuale e dove i prodotti scelti verranno valutati tramite un test in termini di giustizia sociale legata al comportamento del produttore, identificando così il profilo del consumatore.

Durante il pomeriggio intrattenimento per i più piccoli con magie e burattini.

L’ultimo evento in programma invece si terrà alle 18.30 sempre in piazza, Consuma responsabile! incontro con Maurizio Marulli, del Centro Nuovo Modello di sviluppo, redattore della Guida al Consumo Critico.

Hey you, listen to me, please: this is the most beautiful event in the end of this summer! Please don’t miss it!

I’m telling you here:

On the 5th and 6th September we will meet all in Cavour square in Rimini.
Equamente Estate ’09 will be an event promoted by the associations Mani Tese, Pacha Mama, Una goccia per il mondo, Maria Negretto e C.E.R.E.S., all together celebrating a responsible way to consume.

Saturday 5th September, at 7 p.m., the association Mani Tese of Rimini organises a real fashion show, Beau Rivage, Beau Vintage , with clothes on runway from ’60 - ’70 - ’80 that will be sold after the show to sustain a project for Cambodia.

The day after, Sunday 6th from 3 p.m., the day will be opened with Alternative in strada, an interactive walk through home-made proposals, fair trade, organic and sustainable shopping.

There will be two paths – that will make you know alternative way to buy and to behave in a responsible way – where you’ll can find benches and info points for associations and local societies.
Moreover, at the centre of the two paths, it will set up a little exhibition, Boycott: a practise for opposition, edited by the association Mani Tese, where the boycotting of the great multinationals companies will be illustrated. At the end of the path a ‘Boycott-shop’ will be set up where you can do a virtual shopping. At the end of your shopping the chosen products will be valued by a test based on the social justice related to the manufacturers behaviour, so identifying the profile of you consumer.

During the afternoon there will be entertainments for children with magic tricks and puppets.

Last planned happening is at 6 p.m., even in the same square, Consume in a Responsible Way!, meeting with Maurizio Marulli, from the New Model Centre for development, editor of the A Guide for a Critical Consuming.

A different weekend for good practises!

Mercatini & co. / Little markets & co.

“Alla fiera dell’Est, per due soldi, un topolino mio padre comprò” …

così cantava una vecchia canzone/filastrocca che molti si sono divertiti ad interpretare e inventare nuovamente.
I mercatini delle pulci, dell’usato, dell’artigianato e così via sono sempre stati delle grandi attrattive. D’estate, infatti, non resistiamo proprio alla tentazione di fare un giro nelle fiere e sagre di paese per le bancarelle.
Sarebbe interessante sapere quali mercatini ci sono in tutta Italia ogni giorno – qualche sito ci ha già provato – cosicché ognuno avrebbe l’occasione di fare un salto presso quello più vicino, per diletto o per cercare qualcosa di utile.
So an old song/limerick sang, a tune that many people tried to perform and newly invent.
The flea markets, as also the second hand ones, the handicraft ones and so on were always big attractions. On summer, in fact, we cannot resist to the temptation to go for a walk to some fairs in town, looking to benches.
It would be very interesting to know how many markets are around Italy everyday – some websites are trying to collect them together – so everyone could have the chance to go to the nearest one, for fun or searching something really useful.

E nei mercatini chi cerca trova quasi sempre l’affare, mentre chi vende riesce a mettere da parte qualcosina, spesso, nel caso dei mercatini dell’usato, rimettendo in circolo degli oggetti che altrimenti finirebbero in discarica. Andare per mercatini, quindi, non è mai una perdita di tempo e può rivelarsi una bella scoperta!
And in little markets who looks for something, finds almost often the business, while who sells can save some money and, in case of the second hand markets, can put in a new circle some object that otherwise would go to the landfill. So, paying a visit for little markets could reveal nice things.

A tal proposito ho delle novità che riguardano la mia zona. Aprite perciò bene le orecchie:

Novità numero uno: a Rimini ha appena aperto in via sperimentale il Farmers Market!!!
Si tratta di un mercato di generi alimentari (ortofrutta, prodotti agricoli e da allevamento), nel quale i produttori si interfacciano direttamente con i consumatori. La cosa più importante è che i produttori sono aziende agricole che hanno sede nella zona immediatamente nei dintorni della città, quindi ogni prodotto è rigorosamente a chilometri zero! Inoltre si trovano prodotti biologici ed i prezzi sono decisamente economici, da quello che dicono.
Qui a Rimini si tiene ogni venerdì mattina nei pressi della Rocca Malatestiana.
Non ho ancora modo di mostrarvi immagini e parlare di un’esperienza diretta, ma posso garantirvi che approfitterò delle mie ferie per farvi una capatina e vi farò sapere!
News n.1: in Rimini the Farmers Market is finally opened in an experimental way!!!
It is a food market (vegs and every kind of product from farms), in which farmers are directly faced with consumers. The most important thing is that sellers have their farms in the immediate surroundings of the city, so every product is strictly 0 km. Moreover you can find organic products and price are very cheap, as they say.
Here in Rimini this market is every Friday morning, close to Malatesta’s Castle.
I cannot show you pictures yet and tell you from my direct experience, but I can guarantee that I will profit during my holidays to go there for a walk, then I’ll tell you!

Seconda novità: l’associazione Mani Tese di Rimini, che opera sempre tramite volontari – di cui si può dire ormai che ne faccia quasi parte –, per raccogliere fondi per opere nei paesi del Sud del mondo, d’estate non ha mai cessato di lavorare! Infatti, oltre a preparare un evento di grande portata per settembre, di cui vi farò presto sapere, sta gestendo tutti i venerdì sera a Bellaria un favoloso mercatino di libri usati!
Questa sera e la sera del 28 agosto potrete trovare anche me e Irish. Mi riconoscerete da una spilla verde a forma di foglia (eh eh)! Su, venite a trovarmi!
In ogni caso il mercatino sarà lì per tutte le altre serate di venerdì del mese di agosto. Quindi, se siete appassionati di letture sotto l’ombrellone, non mancate!
News n.2: the Mani Tese Association in Rimini, which helps people in the South of the World by the work of volunteers – I can say that I’m almost totally involved – on summer is going on to work! In facts, apart from organising a great event for the first weekend of September – I’ll let you know very soon – it is opening a fabulous little market for second hand books every Friday evening in Bellaria (RN)!
This evening and the next 28th August, you can meet me and Irish there. You’ll recognize me by a green brooch in shape of a leaf (eh eh)! Here we go, come to meet me!
In any case the market will be opened every Friday evening of August. So, if you are fond of reading under your beach umbrella, don’t miss it!

Ultima notizia, non certamente una novità ma pur sempre interessante è la riapertura estiva del mercatino dei bambini a Rimini, “Ricordi in soffitta”, ogni mercoledì sera. Un’occasione sia per i piccoli che per tornare piccoli e curiosare tra cose che sicuramente desteranno il vostro interesse!
Io e Irish due giorni fa abbiamo fatto il nostro giro di perlustrazione, muniti di borse di tela, come lo scorso anno, vi ricordate?
Beh, stavolta il nostro bottino è stato un po’ più misero: due cinghie che ci serviranno per il trasporto di attrezzatura per i nostri trekking, due libri di Ian Rankin in lingua inglese (Irish ne va pazzo), una tovaglietta da pub, rigorosamente irlandese, e una meravigliosa scatola di carte colorate per realizzare origami, ma anche per fare altri lavoretti!
Ci siamo divertiti un mondo a curiosare e a dialogare con bimbi che ormai hanno tutta l’aria di venditori esperti! Alla fine ci siamo sentiti più bimbi noi!
Last news, not certainly a novelty but even always interesting is the re-opening of the children’s little market in Rimini, ‘Memories in the Attic’, every Wednesday evening. An opportunity for children but also for adults who want to feel young for to look around surely interesting things!
Two days ago Irish and me went there for a walk, with our cotton bags as the last year, do you remember?
Well, this time we found just few things: a pair of straps for ensuring tools on our backpacks during hikes, a pair of books by Ian Rankin in English – Irish is very hooked to them – a place mat like those ones you can find in Irish pubs, and a marvellous box with coloured fantasy paper to use for origami and other craft works!
We enjoyed very much to look around benches and talking with boys and girls who seem almost expert sellers! At last we felt more young than those children!


Bene allora non avete più scuse per annoiarvi!!! A quali mercatini andrete?

'Sartaperfetta' in ECOMIA - Riccione, 10 Mag. 09

Vi ricordate 'ECOMIA', l'evento di cui ho parlato lo scorso settembre e di cui sono rimasta molto entusiasta?
Bene, domenica prossima a Riccione, presso il Castello degli Agolanti, in Via Caprera, dalle 10 del mattino alle 18, si terrà l'assaggio primaverile di questa fantastica kermesse.
E indovinate chi tornerà a fare la sua apparizione? Ovviamente l'associazione Mani Tese, col suo fantastico banchetto di 'Sartaperfetta': troverete scampoli di stoffa, merletti, passamanerie, bottoni, fili da ricamo e da cucito, il tutto praticamente nuovo! Potrete portare a casa il vostro bottino delle meraviglie con pochi euro che a Mani Tese serviranno per finanziare i progetti per lo sviluppo di alcune aree africane, mentre voi potrete sbizzarrirvi in fantastiche creazioni di maglieria, sartoria e ricamo.
Io, lo sapete, non ci sarò, ma per chi è qui in zona consiglio di non lasciarsi sfuggire l'occasione! ;)

Do you remember 'ECOMIA', the event I mentioned last September, for which I was very enthusiastic?
Well, next Sunday at Riccione, near the Castle of Agolanti, Via Caprera, from 10 am to 18 pm, there will be held a spring taste of this fantastic event.
And guess... who will make its appearance? Obviously the association Mani Tese, with his great bench of 'The Perfect Seamtress'. You will find remnants of fabric, lace, trimmings, buttons, embroidery and sewing threads, all practically new! You can take home your wonderful loot with few euros that Mani Tese will use to finance development projects in some areas of Africa, and you can enjoy in working for fantastic creations of knitting, tailoring and embroidery.
You know, I cant' be there, but for those who are in that area don't miss this opportunity! ;)

25 Aprile...LiberaRimini

Oggi sabato 25 Aprile si festeggia in tutta Italia la liberazione...qui a Rimini si festeggerà in Piazza Cavour, e noi di certo ci saremo!!!
Ne approfitteremo anche per rivedere gli amici e le amiche di ManiTese con i quali trascorreremo qualche ora in compagnia insieme al loro banchetto di libri usati. Se siete di passaggio venite a trovarci, noi saremo in piazza dalle 17 alle 21 di oggi pomeriggio...

Today, Saturday 25 April is the celebration of liberation all over Italy... here in Rimini we celebrate it in Piazza Cavour, and we will certainly be there!
We take this opportunity also to meet again our friends of ManiTese with whom we'll spend several hours together with their banquet of used books. If you are near come to visit us, we will be there from 5 to 9 pm this afternoon...
