Ecoblogger... il ritorno! / Ecobologgers... are coming back!

Più volte mi sono sentita dire che i blog sono stati eclissati – per rimanere in tema con la recente eclissi – dai social network. Eppure, secondo me, non è così vero!
Nonostante i commenti scarseggino, c'è sempre qualcuno che legge i blog! Anzi, gli stessi social network si sono trasformati in veicolo di condivisione e i blog sono diventati sempre più strumento di approfondimento.

Per esempio, ultimamente non si può negare che soprattutto i "foodblogger" si siano moltiplicati in modo incontrollabile.  
Ma gli ecoblogger che fine hanno fatto??? Noi ci siamo ancora e stiamo continuando a cambiare il mondo – un pizzico di autostima ogni tanto ci vuole –!!!

Prova ne ho avuta, durante questa settimana con l'intervista che vi ho annunciato nel post precedente.
Sono stata contattata dalla giornalista Viviana Tanzariello – che colgo l'opportunità di ringraziare ancora – per Radio Elle/Canale 7 Puglia, proprio per raccontare la mia esperienza da ecoblogger!
Davvero non me lo sarei aspettato, visto che non scrivo più al ritmo di un tempo. Eppure il mio messaggio continua ad arrivare ovunque e di questo ne sono felicissima!

L'esperienza radiofonica mi ha messo inizialmente in agitazione – ricordavo ancora l'emozione dell'intervista per la trasmissione "Impatto Ambientale" sulla tv romagnola Icaro –, ma con Viviana, speaker del programma, si è instaurato subito un bel dialogo e mi ha fatto sentire a casa – quale posto migliore di una radio pugliese? –.  Abbiamo parlato delle origini del blog, della mia settimana a zero rifiuti, delle difficoltà nel fare la raccolta differenziata e dei consigli da proporre agli ascoltatori.
Alla fine i minuti non mi bastavano più, avrei voluto raccontare molte più cose ma i tempi erano ben precisi.
Spero che qualcuno mi abbia ascoltato e abbia fatto tesoro di ciò che ho raccontato. 
L'intervista si inseriva in una rubrica L'"Eco-Quiz Differenziamoci", svolta in collaborazione con la Regione Puglia, mirata a promuovere la consapevolezza dell'importanza della raccolta differenziata. Se avete modo, potete sempre seguire la trasmissione – anche in streaming – tutti i giorni dal lunedì al venerdì alle 11.05 su Radio Elle e Canale 7. Presto ci saranno altre interviste di "colleghi/e" ecoblogger che racconteranno la loro esperienza!

Non ho finito ancora di parlare a proposito di ecoblogger...

Lo scorso weekend sono stata a Fa' la cosa giusta 2015 a Milano. Ormai quasi tutti conoscete, la fiera nazionale del consumo critico e degli stili di vita sostenibili. Io mancavo lì dal 2011. È stato lì che ho incontrato per la prima volta gli ecoblogger Riccardo di Wutel.net e Lisa Casali di Ecocucina!

Così anche in quest'ultima edizione ho avuto nuovamente il piacere di incontrarli. Riccardo è ormai un amico, dopo che si è prestato a raggiungermi in Romagna per trasformare abilmente la mia bici in e-bike; ora lavora a tempo pieno nel campo del risparmio energetico e si districa fra kit per il fotovoltaico, domotica ecologica e nuovissimi sistemi di illuminazione a LED!

Sono, poi, riuscita a salutare la sempre super-attivissima Lisa, che nel frattempo ha scritto diversi libri ed è divenuta super-richiesta da canali televisivi e testate giornalistiche per la sua capacità ineguagliabile di saper trasformare gli scarti di cibo in piatti da gourmet. Anche stavolta ha tenuto uno showcooking sull'essiccazione degli scarti di cucina che è stato seguito non da me, in quel momento impegnata per lavoro, ma dal mio compagno, lo chef di casa. Alla fine della dimostrazione si è fermata ad autografarci con dedica il suo libro Ecocucina che ritengo il più completo e utile fra i suoi scritti. È stata molto gentile e si è ricordata anche di me che la seguo e la cito da anni sul Dandaworld blog.

A questi due incontri fantastici devo aggiungere l'incontro con nuove ecoblogger.

Nell'ambito della conferenza sulla cosmesi ecologica che ho seguito a metà giornata, durante il sabato, ho conosciuto innanzitutto la bravissima relatrice Nadia Tadioli, che sul suo blog Diario ecoBeauty è sempre attenta a captare le novità nel campo della bio-ecocosmesi, esplorandole a fondo tramite le sue conoscenze tecniche nel settore, anche attraverso un punto di vista positivamente critico e piacevole da leggere. Sempre durante lo stesso sabato – purtroppo l'unico giorno della mia visita a Fa' la cosa giusta – ho avuto modo di assistere ai laboratori di Neli, foodblogger del Neli's Raw Food, che ha presentato due ricette di cucina crudista con semplici ingredienti ma con tecniche di grande effetto. Piatti veloci e facili da realizzare per chi ama ottenere il massimo dalla verdura in termini di energia e proprietà nutrizionali. E garantisco che il gusto c'era tutto!

Dulcis in fundo, ancora due ecoblogger in gamba, che hanno tenuto più di un laboratorio su detergenza e cosmesi fai da te: Marta Albè e Francesca Piccoletti, redattrici di GreenMe autrici rispettivamente dei libri "La mia casa ecopulita" e "Questo lo faccio io!", entrambi editi da Feltrinelli/Gribaudo e con una grafica davvero simpatica e ben fatta. In realtà dei laboratori che volevamo seguire siamo riusciti a seguirne solo uno, quello di Francesca sulla cosmesi fai-da-te per lui e per lei, ma Marta le ha fatto da spalla, così abbiamo avuto modo di conoscerle entrambe. Abbiamo assistito a come fare degli ottimi scrub per il viso e per il corpo e un dopobarba in poco tempo, con ingredienti naturali facilmente reperibili.

Peccato, poi, non aver potuto assistere ai workshop del giorno dopo con Kia di Equo, eco e vegan che sta ampliando il suo ventaglio di proposte per ridurre sempre di più la propria impronta ecologica.

Insomma, che dire, altro che eclissi! Gli ecoblogger sono vivi e vegeti!
Io che dal 2007 scrivo su questo blog e non mi sono stancata ancora di parlare di me e di ecologia, sono davvero felice e soddisfatta, perché qualcosa nel mio piccolo sono riuscita a fare e oggi si parla di ambiente sempre di più.
Restate sintonizzati perché presto, come promesso in radio, ci saranno nuovi argomenti per questo blog! Per il momento è tutto e buona giornata dell'acqua a tutti!!!


Many times I heard people say that blogs have been eclipsed –to stay on with the recent eclipse– from social networks. Yet, in my opinion, is not so true! Despite on one hand there is the lack of comments, on the other there is always also someone who reads the blog! Indeed, the same social networks have become a vehicle for sharing and blogs have become more and more an instrument of deepening. 
For example, lately you can't deny that especially "foodbloggers" are growing on uncontrollably.
But what happened to ecobloggers??? We are still here, continuing to change the world –yes, with a bit of self-esteem sometimes– !!!

I had the proof during this week with the interview I announced in the previous post.
I was contacted by the journalist Viviana Tanzariello – I take the opportunity to thank again– for Radio Elle / Channel 7 Puglia, just to tell my ecoblogger experience!
Really I couldn't believe it, because my posts are even more rare. So I am very happy that my message continues to get anywhere!

The radio experience made me initially anxious –I still remember the thrill of the interview for the program "Environmental Impact" on Icaro tv Romagna– but with Viviana –also speaker of the program– immediately established with me a good dialogue and made me to feel at home –what a better place than being on air in Puglia?–. We talked about the origins of the blog, my Zero Waste Week, the difficulties in recycling and then suggestions for the listeners. At the end, the minutes were not enough for me anymore, I wanted to tell many more things but the schedule was very precise.
I hope someone has listened to me and made the most of what I said.
The interview was part of a section, the "Eco-Quiz Differenziamoci", carried out in collaboration with the Puglia region, aimed at promoting awareness of the importance of recycling. If you can, follow the program –even in streaming– every day from Monday to Friday at 11.05 on  Radio Elle and Channel 7 (Italian language only). Soon there will be other interviews to "ecoblogger colleagues" who will talk about their experience!
I have not finished yet to talk about ecobloggers ...

Last weekend I went to Fa' La Cosa Giusta 2015 in Milan. All of you almost know the Italian fair of critical consumption and sustainable lifestyles. I was missing it since 2011. It was there that I met for the first time the ecobloggers Riccardo of Wutel.net blog and Lisa Casali of Ecocucina blog!

So even in this last edition I had the pleasure to meet them again. Riccardo is now a friend, after he came in Romagna to turn deftly my bike into e-bike; now he works full time in the industry of energy saving and unravels among photovoltaic kits, home automation systems, ecological and brand new LED lighting!

We were then able to greet the always very active Lisa, who has already written several books and has become super-request by television channels and newspapers for its incomparable ability to turn food scraps into gourmet meals. Again she held a showcooking about drying kitchen waste. I couldn't follow it for work, but my home-chef, my partner, did it. At the end of the demonstration she stopped to sign her book "Ecocucina" which I consider the most comprehensive and useful among her writings. She was very kind and also recognised me, following and quoting her from years on the Dandaworld blog.

I have to add the meeting with new ecobloggers after these two fantastic ones.

As part of the conference on ecological cosmetics I followed in mid-day during that Saturday, I met first the talented Nadia Tadioli lecturer, who on her EcoBeauty Diary blog is always careful to capture the news about organic and ecological cosmetics. Through her technical know-how in the field, she explore cosmetics, including her personal positively critical point of view, which is enjoyable to read. Find updates about her in my blogroll.

Also during the same Saturday –unfortunately the only day I was at Fa' la Cosa Giusta– I was able to attend the workshop of Neli, foodblogger of Neli's Raw Food, which presented two recipes of raw food with simple ingredients but with great effect techniques. Quick and easy meals to implement for those who like to get the most out of vegetables in terms of energy and nutritional properties. And I guarantee about the taste!

Last but not least, two more smart ecoblogger, who held more than a workshop of DIY detergents and cosmetics: Marta Albè and Francesca Piccoletti, editors of GreenMe, authors respectively of the books "La mia casa ecopulita" (tr. My Green-Clean House) and "Questo lo faccio io" (tr. I Do This Myself!), both published by Feltrinelli / Gribaudo and with a really nice and well done graphic design. Actually among all the workshops we were able to follow only one, that one of Francesca on do-it-yourself cosmetics for men and women, but Marta made her right-hand woman, so we got to know them both. We saw how to do some good scrubs for face and body and an aftershave in a short time, with easily available natural ingredients.

Then too bad not being able to attend the workshop of the next day with Kia of Equo, eco e vegan blog that is expanding its range of proposals to further reduce our ecological footprints.

Well, what to say, no eclipse! The ecoblogger are still alive and well! 
Writing this blog since 2007 and being not yet tired of talking about me and ecology, I'm really happy and satisfied, because something in my small way I did, and today we hear to talk about the environment more and more.

Paola & Kia, vegan per amore, compostatrici per passione! / vegan for love, composter for passion!

Da tempo avevo in mente di scrivere una recensione del libro che avevo ricevuto a Natale in regalo, “La mia vita a impatto zero” (Mondadori 2012). Il tempo che ho impiegato a leggerlo sarebbe stato anche meno, se non fosse per i pochi e concentrati momenti che dedico alla lettura dei libri, essendo quasi sempre davanti ad uno schermo.

Ma quando ho terminato la sua lettura, mi è sembrato naturale prendere in mano, e mettermi a sfogliare, un grazioso libricino, “Dalle bucce nascono i fiori” (Terre di Mezzo Ed. 2013).

For a long time I was planning to write a review for the book I received as a gift at Christmas, “La mia vita a impatto zero” (trad. “My Zero Impact Life” - Mondadori 2012). The time it took to be read would have been even less if it were not for the few and concentrated moments I dedicate to read books, being almost always in front of a screen.
But when I finished reading it, it seemed natural to take in hand and browse a lovely little book, “Dalle bucce nascono i fiori”(trad. “From veggie scraps to flowers” - Terre di Mezzo Ed. 2013).

Questi due libri non sono scritti dalla stessa persona ma hanno un “filo di seta” che collega le due autrici, Paola Maugeri e Carmela Giambrone (conosciuta in rete col nome di Kia). Comincerò a parlare prima di quest’ultima.

These two books are not written by the same person but they have a “silk thread” that connects the two authors, Paola Maugeri and Carmela Giambrone (known online under the name of Kia). I am beginnig to tell you before about this last one.

Conosco Kia dal 2011, quando iniziava a diffondere tramite il suo blog i suoi esperimenti di autocostruzione di una compostiera da balcone. Da buone colleghe blogger ci scambiavamo commenti ed elogi ed io ero entusiasta di questa sua“sfida”: avendo già da tempo intrapreso il compostaggio domestico nel mio giardino, e illustrando il compostaggio in alcuni workshop con Mani Tese, in giro per la mia città, molte persone mi esponevano i loro dubbi sulla possibilità di praticare il compostaggio anche sul proprio balcone.

Bene, Kia aveva già la risposta a tutti questi dubbi. Ha collaudato una compostiera da balcone fai-da-te facile da realizzare, mettendo a disposizione di tutti il suo know-how in rete e attraverso i suoi laboratori. Col tempo è diventata un’esperta di compostaggio, tanto da spiegarne abilmente e in modo molto semplice e convincente nel suo libro “Dalle bucce nascono i fiori”, il processo naturale, la tecnica e i segreti per ottenere un meraviglioso compost, potendo così da vita ad un orto/giardino sul balcone di casa, senza alcun fastidio per sé e per i vicini.

Poche pagine per pochi concetti fondamentali e per pochi gesti che, se praticati quotidianamente come tutte le abitudini che abbiamo da sempre, sono semplici e addirittura divertenti e fanno bene, molto bene all’ambiente!!!

I know Kia since 2011, when it began to spread through her blog her experiments on DIY compost bin for balconies. As good fellow bloggers we exchanged comments and praises, and I was excited about her “challenge”, doing since long home composting in my garden and explaining it through some composting workshop with Mani Tese, around my city, where many people showed their doubts about the possibility of practicing composting even on their own balcony.
Well, Kia already had the answer to all these questions. She proved to make a do-it-yourself compost bin for balcony easy to build, providing all its know-how in the web and through her own workshops. Over time she has become an expert in composting, so skillfully to explain – in a very simple and convincing way in her book “Dalle bucce nascono i fiori” – the natural process, techniques and secrets to get a wonderful compost, allowing yourself to have an orchard/garden on the balcony of your house, without any discomfort for yourself and your neighbors.
A few pages for a few basic concepts and a few gestures which – if practiced daily as all the habits we have – are always been simple and even fun. Habits that are very good for you and environment!

Ma cosa lega Kia alla più nota Paola Maugeri?
Per me Paola è stata una vera sorpresa... me la ricordo ancora come conduttrice di Videomusic – e MTV poi –, io che dal ’95 mi sono sempre interessata alla musica attraverso una particolare passione, avendo fondato e poi gestito con altre persone, prima il fan club e poi il sito italiano dei Cranberries.

Ho sempre apprezzato il suo modo di porsi al pubblico così genuino e schietto, libero dagli standard – di cui purtroppo l’industria musicale è piena –, ma non avrei mai immaginato, a distanza di tanti anni, di poter sfogliare un suo libro e di apprezzarla nuovamente e maggiormente sotto una nuova veste, quella di vegana e paladina dell’impatto zero!!!

Che poi suona male la parola “paladina”, perché nel suo libro, “La mia vita a impatto zero”, non usa affatto mettersi su un piedistallo! Infatti mi aspettavo uno dei soliti “manuali” su come ridurre il proprio impatto sull’ambiente, facendo questa o quell’altra cosa.

Avevo già visto le puntate della serie, con titolo omonimo al libro, nella trasmissione “E se domani” e mi aspettavo di trovare fra le righe del testo più o meno lo stesso contenuto, invece questo libro per me è stata un’autentica sorpresa!

Paola ci parla della sua vita a impatto zero – o “quasi zero”, come poi specifica dopo –, attraverso le sue esperienze, memorabili ma anche dolorose, attraverso i suoi ricordi che profumano di Sicilia – anche per via delle golose ricette vegane che chiudono ogni capitolo –, attraverso i suoi incontri con personaggi famosi del mondo della musica – e non solo! – , regalandoci delle vere perle e facendoci scoprire l’intensità e la passione con cui condisce ogni suo momento di lavoro e di vita quotidiana.

Leggere questo “viaggio nella sua vita” mi ha fatto capire che non bisogna dare mai nulla per scontato, che bisogna avere un grande coraggio, che talvolta bisogna lanciarsi, chiudendo gli occhi, per raggiungere un obiettivo, che sia l’impatto zero o un provino, o un tango improvvisato...

La sua è un’ode alla vita, urlata al mondo con la grinta di una vera rocker e sussurrata in un orecchio come la voce di una madre al suo bambino.

Davvero un libro che fa bene al cuore, non solo all’ambiente!!!

But what is the bond between Kia and the better known Paola Maugeri?
Paola was a real surprise to me ... I still remember she as host of Videomusic – and MTV then –, as since ’95 I have always been interested in music through a particular passion, having founded and then managed with other people, the fan club and then the Italian website of The Cranberries.
I've always liked the way she shows herself to the public so genuine and sincere, free from the standards – which, unfortunately, the music industry is full – but I never imagined, after all these years, to read a book of hers and love her again and more under a new guise, that of a vegan and a zero impact champion!
But the word “champion” sounds bad, because in her book, “La mia vita a impatto zero”, she doesn’t use to put herself on a pedestal! In fact, I was expecting one of the usual “guide” on how to reduce your impact on environment, doing this or that thing.
I had already seen the episodes of the series, with the same title of the book, the TV show “E se domani” and I expected to find between the lines of the text more or less the same contents. On the contrary this book for me was a real surprise!
Paola tells us about her zero impact life – or “almost zero”, as she specify after in the book – through her memorable but also painful experiences, through her memories with a scent of Sicily – also because of the delicious vegan recipes that close each chapter – through her meetings with celebrities from the music world – and not only! –, giving us true pearls and letting us discover the intensity and passion with which she seasons every moment of work and everyday life.
Reading this “journey in her life” made me realize that you should not take anything for granted, that you must take great courage, that sometimes you have to jump and close your eyes to achieve a goal that could be the zero impact, an audition or at least an improvised tango ...
Hers is an ode to life, screaming to the world with the strength of a true rocker and whispered in a ear as the voice of a mother to her child.
Truly a book that is good for the heart, not just for the environment!

P.s.: Ooops non vi ho più detto perché Kia e Paola sono collegate fra loro... allora andate a scoprirlo voi!!! ;) Siete appena in tempo perché è già uscito il nuovo libro di Paola, “Las Vegans”... non vedo l’ora di averlo con me!!!

Di baratti, regali e... / Swaps, gifts and ...

Il nuovo anno è già iniziato da un bel pezzo e nel mio blog non ho ancora osato inaugurarlo. A dire il vero, se il capodanno è stato abbastanza tranquillo, molti giorni del mese di gennaio si sono rivelati piuttosto intensi, fra viaggi, influenza, attività di volontariato, lavoro e riorganizzazione dello stesso.
Ho avuto poco tempo da dedicare alla mia passione preferita, il blog, e neanche molta ispirazione. Volevo iniziare il nuovo anno con un post interessante.
Poi, però, l'ispirazione non ha tardato ad arrivare ed ora ho sicuramente qualcosa da dirvi, forse più che interessante, direi stimolante.
The new year has already started quite a while and in my blog I have not yet dared to inaugurate it. In fact, if the new year's eve has been pretty quiet, many days of the month of January were rather intense, between travel, flu, volunteer activities, work and reorganization of itself.
I had little time to devote to my favorite passion, the blog , and not so much inspiration. I wanted to start the new year with an interesting post.
Then, however, inspiration has not been slow to arrive and now I definitely have something to tell you, perhaps more than interesting, I would say challenging. 

Ma prima di tirar fuori nuovi argomenti dal cilindro, vorrei un momento riallacciarmi agli ultimi post del 2013. Un anno trascorso fra mille difficoltà, ma conclusosi meno peggio di quanto pensassi, perché mi sono arricchita di conoscenze e di esperienze nuove.
Vecchie cose hanno lasciato il posto a cose nuove... Vi ricordate il baratto di libri che avevo organizzato per la Settimana Europea per la riduzione dei rifiuti? Non aveva riscosso molto successo, ma alla fine ho avuto un paio di contatti, fra cui l'azienda che, sempre per quell'evento, avrebbe inaugurato una 'biblioteca verde'. Ho conosciuto via mail una bella comunità di persone che, lavorando assieme, hanno deciso di mettere su delle iniziative ecologiche, come per esempio anche un orto... Non posso che essere felice di donare o scambiare i miei libri con loro. Sono ancora nella mia libreria, ma fremono per essere letti da qualcun altro!
But before bringing out new topics from the hat, I'd like a moment to pick up on the last posts of 2013. A year spent in a thousand difficulties, but ended less worse than I thought, because I have enhanced knowledge and new experiences.
Old things have given way to new things ... Do you remember the books swap that I had arranged for the European Week for Waste Reduction? It wasn't very successful, but in the end I had a couple of contacts, including the company that, again for that event, would inaugurate a 'green library'. I met a nice email community of people who, working together, have decided to put on green initiatives, such as a vegetable garden... I can only be happy to donate or exchange my books with them. They are still in my library, but itching to be read by someone else!


Poi, al di fuori del blog, tramite Facebook, ho donato alcuni dei miei libri degli studi universitari ad una famiglia piemontese che non conoscevo. In viaggio per le feste natalizie, sono passati a prendere i libri e mi hanno fatto una piacevole sorpresa, portandomi in dono ottimi miele e polenta autoprodotti, dal momento che hanno una piccola azienda agricola. Ho, quindi avuto il piacere di conoscere queste bravissime persone e spero di poterli rivedere ancora...
Then, outside of the blog, through Facebook, I donated some of my books of my university age to a Piedmontese family who I did not know. Traveling for Christmas, they came to pick up the books and they made me a pleasant surprise, bringing the gift of great self-produced honey and polenta, since they have a small farm. I then had the pleasure to know these good people I hope can see again...

Infine le feste sono state, come sempre, bei momenti trascorsi con i miei familiari. E tornando a casa, mi son portata dietro dei bei ricordi e degli insoliti regali ricevuti: un libro che era da tempo nella mia whishing list ("La mia vita a impatto zero" di Paola Maugeri – quando l'avrò letto vi farò sapere qualcosa di più), una bella collana da commercio equo (acquisto londinese della mia sorellina temporaneamente espatriata), e, fra altre cose, udite udite, uno smartphone! Già, non è una cosa di cui un'ecologista come me dovrebbe vantarsi, ma, questo è uno smarphone speciale... praticamente è usato! :-)
Si tratta del primo smartphone del mio fratellone, il quale, attratto da un nuovo modello ha voluto disfarsi in questo modo del suo vecchio, datato 2010. Perché buttarlo? Io, che ero rimasta alla preistoria della telefonia, potevo fare così finalmente un salto nella tecnologia (anche se ho già un tablet – ma non è la stessa cosa!) e dimenticare finalmente quell'odioso joystick sul tastierino del mio vecchio cellulare che dal 2006 ormai sta perdendo sempre più colpi!
Quindi ora mi immaginerete super-geek... e invece... no! Il mio attaccamento alle cose vecchie ed obsolete è più forte di me e ancora non riesco a disfarmi del vecchio caro cellulare! Abbiate pazienza!
Quando qualcosa cambierà, vi aggiornerò! ;-)

And going back home, I brought along some good memories and some unusual gifts received: a book that was a long time in my whish list– when I've read I will tell you something more about "My Zero Impact Life" by Paola Maugeri–, a beautiful necklace from fair trade –purchased by my sister who temporarily expatriated in London–, and, among other things, unbelievable, a smartphone! Yeah, it is not a thing that an ecologist like me should be proud, but this is a special smartphone ... practically it is second hand! :-)
It is my brother's first smartphone. Attracted by a new model he wanted to get rid of his old, dated 2010. Why should he throw it away? Knowing me, he thought to give it to me –who remained at the prehistory of mobile phones– so I could finally make a leap in technology –even though I already have a tablet which is not the same thing!– And could finally forget the odious joystick on the keypad of my old mobile phone since 2006 which is now on the way to be out if order!
So now you will imagine me super-geek ... but ... no! My attachment to old and obsolete things is stronger than me and I still can not get rid of the good old phone! Please be patient!
When things will change, I will update you! ;-)

Eccoci ormai al termine della Settimana Europea per la Riduzione dei Rifiuti.
Termina qui il mio baratto dei libri a tema ambientale/ecologico, iniziativa che è stata apprezzata ma a cui hanno partecipato poche persone, più che altro con incoraggiamenti.
Va bene, comunque è stato il mio primo baratto online e non potevo pretendere meglio, soprattutto dopo che non aggiornavo il blog così frequentemente.

Si tratta di tre libri diversi fra loro ma molto "illuminanti": il primo spiega in poche parole il fenomeno di Critical Mass, il movimento di biciclette ormai diffuso in tutto il mondo, facendo riferimento ai gruppi più importanti e alle loro eclatanti azioni di protesta; il secondo è in pratica un "Bignami" dell'autoproduzione che va da apparecchi più o meno complessi, come pannelli, forni e frigo solari, alle cose più semplici fatte in casa come alimenti, borse della spesa, libri, detergenti, carta da lettera ecc., con spunti e suggerimenti interessanti, che sarebbero migliorati se fossero stati accompagnati da immagini; il terzo per me è stata una vera scoperta... io che pensavo che il nemico n. 1 del mio guardaroba fosse la muffa, ho capito che c'è molto più di pericoloso in quello che si usa a monte, nella produzione dei filati per l'abbigliamento – da leggere assolutamente!
They are three different books but are also very "enlightening". The first in a nutshell explains the phenomenon of Critical Mass, the movement of bicycles now spread all over the world, referring to the most important groups and their sensational protest actions. The second one is basically a little guide on self-producing that goes from more or less complex devices, such as solar panels, ovens and refrigerator, to simplest things like homemade food, shopping bags, books, detergents, writing paper, etc., with interesting ideas and suggestions, which would be improved if they were accompanied by images. The third one was for me a real discovery... I thought that the enemy no. 1 of my wardrobe was mold, but I realized that there is much more danger in what it is used upstream in the production of yarns for clothing – a must read!

Così siamo giunti al termine di questo mio piccolo sforzo per ridurre i rifiuti in questa settimana... i libri restano a disposizione del baratto fino alla fine di dicembre – quindi potete sempre richiederli – dopo di che, nell'anno nuovo saranno donati.
So we come to the end of my small effort to reduce waste this week... books will remain available to swap until the end of December – so you can always request them – after that, in the new year they will be donated.

7° libro in baratto per la SERR / 7th book to swap for the EWWR

Siamo a venerdì, terz'ultimo giorno della Settimana Europea per la Riduzione dei Rifiuti e quindi di questo baratto.
Il venerdì è il giorno sicuramente il più amato, specialmente da chi passa la settimana a lavorare, sia in ufficio che a casa. Il venerdì è il giorno in cui si fanno tanti programmi e si ripongono tante speranze. Insomma, è un giorno allegro! L'indomani la maggior parte di noi andranno a fare un po' di shopping...
Ma, ormai lo sappiamo, un po' per la crisi, un po' perché abbiamo una 'coscienza verde' molti di noi sanno che non si può fare uno shopping sfrenato senza danni all'ambiente, alle tasche, ad alcuni lavoratori, alla salute!
Quindi per questo venerdì propongo questo libro:

Quindi lo consiglio vivamente a chi viaggia, a chi ama acquistare online o a chi vive nelle grandi città e ha più scelta.
Quindi buon shopping, purché sia verde! ;)
I didn't used this book a lot, since the only two stores mentioned in my town, one was closed, while the other is basically a company that distributes its products in other stores. So I highly recommend it to travelers or people who loves to shop online, or those who live in large cities and have more choices.
So have a good shopping weekend, provided it is green! ;)

Ormai siamo in dirittura di arrivo, mancano pochi giorni alla fine della Settimana Europea per la Riduzione dei Rifiuti e mancano pochi libri da mettere in palio per questo baratto.
Finora nessuno dei libri ha avuto una proposta di scambio, quindi se visitate i post precedenti, e vi interessa barattare qualche vostro libro, i miei sono tutti ancora disponibili.
We are now in the finishing straight, missing a few days at the end of the European Week for Waste Reduction and missing a few books to put up for grabs in this swap.
So far, none of the books had an exchange proposal, so if you visit the previous posts, and you are interested in swapping some of your book, mine are all still available.

Un po' mi dispiace che questa mia iniziativa non prenda piede... forse non sono stata abbastanza brava a promuoverla, oppure è vera la storia che abbiamo sempre meno voglia di leggere!
Io, per la verità, no. Ho poco tempo ma appena posso un libro, in digitale o cartaceo, mi accompagna sempre!
Infatti, nell'ultima domenica di baratto a tema piratesco che si è svolta qui a Rimini al Centro per le Famiglie, organizzata da Mani Tese e Akap, ho barattato una giacca con un libro, che poi ho iniziato a leggere ieri. È un libro per ragazzi, ma molto bello e divertente, ve ne parlerò!

In fact, the last Sunday of pirate theme barter – which was held here in Rimini at the Center for Families, organized by Mani Tese and AKAP – I swapped a jacket with a book, which I started reading yesterday. It is a book for children, but very nice and funny, I'll tell you!

Se il clima è imprevedibile è anche per colpa nostra. Dobbiamo fare qualcosa! Rimbocchiamoci le maniche e sforziamoci di essere più attenti all'ambiente!
Now a book like this is really needed! Especially after the last few days we have witnessed various weather cataclysms which make a lot of fear.
I take this opportunity to be closer to people affected personally by these dramatic events.
But I appeal to all readers of this blog, so that you should strive to follow my advice, like those of all the authors of these books and many other people whose primary commitment is to live in a more sustainable manner. If the weather is unpredictable, it is also our fault. We must do something ! Let's roll up our sleeves and go green!

Per questo libro non c'è una descrizione in italiano, anzi chiedo scusa io in primis, perché avrei dovuto raccontarvi di cosa parla questo libro... è passato tanto tempo da questo post in cui vi accennavo del suo arrivo, ma, non appena ho finito di leggerlo è passato nelle mani di una mia amica, che poi è andata a lavorare all'estero. La mia amica è tornata da poco ed anche il libro.
Quindi voglio cogliere l'occasione per far proseguire al libro un altro lungo viaggio, visto che la stessa autrice – che ha aperto anche un suo blog omonimo –, suggerisce: «Quando avrai finito di leggere questo libro, passalo ad un buon amico che può cimentarsi con questo in abitudini più ecologiche.»
For this book there is not a description in Italian, in fact I beg your pardon in a first place, because I would tell you what this book is about... has been so long since this post when I mentioned its arrival, but as soon as I finished reading, it has passed into the hands of a friend of mine, who then went to work abroad. My friend came back recently and so the book.
So I want to take this opportunity to continue the book's long journey, as the same author – who opened also her blog – suggests: "When you finish reading this book, pass it on to a good friend who could do with finding a greener grove."

Il libro è molto ben fatto sia graficamente che nei contenuti, perché dopo un'introduzione indispensabile a capire meglio il problema dei rifiuti, aiuta passo passo, a cominciare dalla propria casa, a ridurre gli sprechi e a fare economia ed ecologia. In poche parole è un libro fantastico, di cui mi privo a malincuore, ma anche volentieri, perché è bello che altre persone possano leggerlo.
E poi cosa c'è di meglio di un libro del genere per la SERR? ;)

The book is very well done graphically and in content, because, after an essential introducion to better understand the problem of waste, it helps you step by step, starting from your home, to reduce waste and to go greener and save money. In a nutshell, it is a fantastic book, which I give away reluctantly, but also willingly, because it's nice that other people can read it.And then what could be better than such this book for the EWWR? ;)So dear barters, come forward with your proposals!

Quello che vi posso dire io è che è un libro che apre la mente a vedere certi aspetti da punti di vista differenti. In un periodo di crisi come questo – non è un caso che il libro è stato pubblicato proprio nell'anno di inizio di questa lunga crisi –, è davvero difficile trovare qualcosa di positivo nei maggiori problemi che assillano il pianeta, ma, finita la lettura, non dico che vi farà cambiare idea, ma almeno vi farà guardare le cose in modo diverso. Lo consiglio vivamente.
Aggiungo che in occasione della presentazione di questo libro, non solo ho conosciuto Michele Dotti ma ho conosciuto anche Mani Tese, associazione onlus con un animo ecologico, a cui sono ormai legata da quel dì!

Questo libro non trova descrizione su internet, ma ha una vecchia storia, legata alla mia infanzia. Forse è stato uno dei libri che ha fatto crescere in me l'amore per la natura. È stato uno dei miei primi libri a tema ambientale, forse proprio il primo, ed è molto caro a me perché rappresenta la mia vincita – assieme ad un poster – ad un concorso del WWF dove si chiedeva di disegnare il proprio animale preferito. Bene, io disegnai un pappagallo, non perché fosse davvero il mio animale preferito, ma perché mi affascinava con il suo piumaggio multicolore e, inoltre, a quell'epoca impazzivo per il programma di Enzo Tortora, Portobello. Ditemi che ve lo ricordate!
Quindi, siccome sin da piccola ero brava in disegno, ebbi in premio questo bel libro e un poster che rappresentava tutti gli animali d'Italia in pericolo d'estinzione.
Il libro è molto ben fatto con una panoramica sull'ambiente, l'inquinamento – resta ancora molto attuale – gli ecosistemi che sono presenti sul mondo, con belle illustrazioni, il ciclo della vita e una parte finale a tanti suggerimenti per fare piccoli gesti d'amore per l'ambiente, come realizzare nidi per gli uccellini, mangiatoie, far crescere i semi... è un vero tesoro!
For this book there is not description on the internet, but it has an old history, linked to my childhood. Maybe it was one of the books that has grown in me love for nature. It was one of my first books with an environmental theme, perhaps the first, and it is very dear to me because it represents the award – along with a poster – of a competition where the WWF asked to draw your favorite animal. Well, I drew a parrot, not because it was really my favorite animal, but because I was fascinated with its multicolored plumage and, in addition, I was crazy about the program of Enzo Tortora, Portobello. Don't you remember?Therefore, since as a child I was good at drawing, I won this beautiful book and a poster that represented all animals of Italy in danger of exctinction.The book is very well done with an overview on environment, pollution – still very current – world ecosystems with beautiful illustrations, the cycle of life and an end with so many tips to make small gestures of love for nature, how to make nests for the birds, feeders, grow the seeds... it is a real treasure !

Baratto di libri per la Settimana Europea per la Riduzione dei Rifiuti 2013 / Book swap for the European Week for Waste Reduction

Sempre in ritardo, io! E sì, quest’anno non sono riuscita mandare in tempo la mia adesione ufficiale alla Settimana Europea per la Riduzione dei Rifiuti, che quest’anno cade dal 16 (domani) al 24 Novembre ed è dedicata alla Riparazione ed al Riuso. Always late, me! This year I could not send in time my official accession to the European Week for Waste Reduction, which this year falls from 16 (tomorrow) to 24 November and is dedicated to Repairing and Reusing. You can read some information on the site www.ecodallecitta.it.

Io però non mi sono persa d’animo e ho deciso di impegnarmi lo stesso in tema con questa fantastica iniziativa di livello internazionale con una mia azione: vi propongo un baratto di libri, ma non libri qualunque.
But I haven't lost myself and I decided to commit the same in theme with this fantastic initiative at international level with my action: I propose a swap of books, but no books whatsoever.

A casa ho una bella libreria dove ho dedicato uno scomparto ai miei libri a tema ecologico e ambientale.
Devo ammettere, è difficile per me sbarazzarmi dei libri. Poi, lo sapete, io non butto via mai niente, se può avere una seconda vita!
E non c’è niente di più sprecato che buttare via un libro, perché in primo luogo è uno sfregio all’ambiente, per le risorse che sono state sprecate nel produrlo, e in secondo luogo è uno spreco di conoscenza che potrebbe essere diffusa se il libro passasse nelle mani di altre persone. In pratica un libro buttato via è un rifiuto inammissibile!
At home I have a nice bookshelf where I dedicated a shelf to my books about ecological and environmental themes.
I have to admit, it's hard for me to get rid of the books. Then, you know, I do not throw away anything, if it can have a second life!
And there's nothing more wasted than throwing away a book, because in the first place is an affront to the environment, for the resources wasted in producing it, and secondly it is a waste of knowledge that could be spread if the book passed into the hands of other people. In other words, a book thrown away is an unacceptable waste!

Però la mia libreria scoppia e io ho voglia di accrescere le mie conoscenze.
Per lavoro, ho tutti i giorni a che fare con libri e riviste ma mi rimane pochissimo tempo per leggere. Leggere resta comunque una mia passione, soprattutto se si tratta degli argomenti che mi stanno più a cuore. Il baratto funzionerà più che altro come un book crossing: io lascerò il libro in bacheca e il primo visitatore che lascia un commento sul blog si aggiudicherà il libro, proponendone uno proprio in cambio, possibilmente nell’ambito degli stessi temi. Seguirà poi scambio di mail in privato per accordi su come scambiarsi i libri.
In short, I will put some of these books in circulation. One per day precisely, for the entire week of the EWWR. This swap will work more as a book-crossing: I'll let the book on the "bulletin board" and the first visitor who leaves a comment on the blog will win the book, proposing one of his own in change, possibly about the same themes. It will be followed by an exchange of private emails to agreements on how to share books.

I libri che resteranno privi di scambio, verranno donati ad una “biblioteca verde” che ha aderito col suo progetto alla SERR o al mercatino dell’usato solidale di Mani Tese.
The books that will remain free of exchange, will be donated to a "green library" which has acceded with his project to the SERR or the charity second hand shop of Mani Tese.
