Aiutatemi a capire in che mondo mi trovo! Avete mai visto il film The Truman Show?
Help me to understand in what kind of world I am! Have you ever seen the movie The Truman Show?
Well, that’s how I feel these days. The reality looks so unreal to me that it seems that someone above us is enjoying in spying to see where we will finish this step.
Saturday we were with a few people in the city square to communicate to people our concern for building the new line of incinerator... people completely unknown to me, but all gripped by the nightmare of living in a contaminated, dangerous and unhealthy environment.
It was a civilian experience that clarified things to me.
First of all, most of us are not interested in any of these things!
People feel at ease and in its padded faux prosperity made by cars, fashion, cellars and chats on the web. They feel safe when someone seems to keep looking for it all. They feel quiet when someone decides for them. And they drink all that passes through the TV funnel.
And so on Saturday they laugh, walks, go masked parties and make gossip.
Children run the streets with colourful clothes and playing unsuspecting. Or sleep wrapped in their strollers.
But nobody listens. Some people just look under the dark glasses at those poor who complain and then smile, avoiding them, without even ask what are doing four cats with a megaphone, imploring health for them and environment.
Today, the farce is the same, but on a national scale.
It was decided on the heads of all that nuclear will be done. Despite of those who had expressed their opinion about it directly. Despite the crisis and hardship in which we live. Despite precarity and unemployment.
Our money (lots of it) will be given away for these large plants which while will be built slowly, they will become obsolete. It’s not given to know where, because the opinion of local governments will be ignored.
And so we will be proud of an Italy that will be ‘independent from oil’. When in thirty years we will have the uranium shortage. And there we’ll complain that we failed to put away the nuclear waste. There will be even more military around and we will be all happier because it is safer!
We will have lost time and sun and wind, instead of giving us wealth, made our country barer. And what for us?
If it is a carnival joke, please tell me! If it is a nightmare wake me up, please, if it is not, then that’s me to scream WAKE UP!!!
